if they're gonna use that argument, they should also argue that those two conferences NEED a conf. c-ship.

Nobody forced SEC,ACC,Big 12 to have selfish money grabs known as conference championship games. The SEC decided to have a championship game, so the winner of that game is their champion. LSU is the SEC champion. Georgia shouldnt have gotten trounced by Tennessee or they would have played LSU last month.

conference championship games determine the conf. champion on the field. next up, there's a playoff where teams that struggle and lose a game or two can STILL comeback to redeem themselves.

think of it this way: if there was a playoff, and if michigan vs. florida was round 1, michigan would STILL be playing in a week and competing for a NC.

right now, all they have is a win over a ranked but lesser sec team and a good farewell prize for lloyd carr.

The season determines who the conference champion will be. The conference title game is redundant, especially when alot of the times they are just rematches from games earlier in the season (this years ACC and Big 12 title games). If there is a playoff in college football, the regular season would go to absolute shit where every big school would schedule cupcakes and teams would start resting starters and shit. Thats another thing for another thread.
