Honydip, this is the vague type of reply I mentioned in my OP. By my simple male mind, this date happens a 1000 times a day all over the U.S. and most likely you've been on a perfect many many times by this account.
From the replies I've read so far, ladies don't seem to be asking for much in a date for it to be considered a "perfect" date. Either women are going on a lot more "perfect" dates then they are admitting or men are falling short on delivering the minimal things?

IN AN AGE WHERE ON AVERAGE BLACK WOMEN EARN MORE MONEY THAN BLACK MEN........AND BLACK WOMEN COMPLAIN ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND A GOOD NEGRO...............AINT NOTHING WRONG WITH A DUTCH DATE.
BUT IF YOU TELL MOST BLACK WOMEN UPFRONT THAT YOU WANT TO GO ON A DUTCH DATE...........THEY ACT LIKE YOU SPIT ON THEM.
A 1ST DATE IN MOST CASES YOU ARE JUST LEARNING BASIC THINGS ABOUT EACH OTHER. NO NEED FOR EITHER PARTY TO MAKE SOME HUGE INVESTMENT FINANCIALLY, EMOTIONALLY, OR OTHERWISE.
IT IS AMAZING THAT MOST OF THE WOMEN THAT YOU HEAR WITH ALL THESE "ELABORATE" REQUIREMENTS FOR A DATE.........AND FOR A MAN FOR THAT MATTER SEEM TO BE SINGLE.

I joked with him that he had to give me some because the bill was up there I usually just trade off with my dates. One of us does dinner, the other the movie and back and forth. Not really a big deal. I think things are much more relaxed with dutch. Meeting halfway you know? To me that sets a good tone

SOME WOMEN...BUT ESPECIALLY BLACK WOMEN HAVE AN ENTITLEMENT COMPLEX. IT ALMOST IN THE DNA. PSYCHOLOGICALLY IT ALMOST LIKE [SOME] BLACK WOMEN WITHOUT EVEN THINKING ABOUT IT ASSUME THAT BLACK MEN ARE SORRY. CONSEQUENTLY(WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT) [SOME] BLACK WOMEN SET UP ALL THESE TRIALS AND TESTS FOR THE BLACK MAN TO "PROVE HIS WORTH" TO THEM.
IT SEEMS THAT WHEN I HAVE BEEN OUT WITH PROFESSIONAL WOMEN OF OTHER ETHNICITIES...........WHO PAYS FOR THE DATE IS NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE. BOTH MYSELF AND THE WOMAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE EVENING OF ENTERTAINMENT.

Honestly DDeuce do you think those other women aren't checking your behavior but maybe in a more subtle way? I have dated others as well and am glad to report, black men have not behaved differently. I didn't find other groups more or less generous- maybe because I gravitate towards the same type of man regardless of ethnic background.

All this sounds like things men should do to impress the opposite sex and it usually means he's gonna atleast spend two houndred for half a days work,that might be the begining and the end that date.
First dates should allways be fun that way we both aren't acting a certain way because of the place we'er in and the people we are around.If things are chill but up beat this is where you know if the person is someone you wanna get to know better or not.....

I think what really makes a date perfect is how you interact with the man and how well you get along. A man could spend a lot of money at a fine restaurant, but if the conversation is boring or absent it won't be remembered as a perfect date. But if we are chilling in the park for hours and can't stop talking to each other, I might remember it as the best date ever. Personality over how much he spends
yeah a perfect date is based on how well we connect not on what we do nor how much $ spent. I am thinking right now of a recent great one we just went for a drive listening to good music and just couldn't stop talking about everything and laughing. We parked up and drank some wine and burned and it was real cool. Best one in a long long time. Why? Cause dude was mad cool and thought the same of me.

SOME OF THE BEST "DATES" I HAVE .... WERE WITH WOMEN WHEN ALL WE DID WAS JUST SIT IN MY CRIB & TALK OVER A BOTTLE OF WINE (NO TV/MOVIE PLAYING). OR JUST LISTENING TO MUSIC LIKE YOU MENTIONED.
