Should Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Be Allowed To Speak @ Morehouse or Howard?

Morehouse brought some good speakers to Crown Forum and some bad ones. Fuck it, let him rock.

Yeah, Morehouse has had some good speakers @ Crown Forum, however, I'm not sure if the administration will allow it. When I was at Morehouse, the administration was quick to quell any idea that went against the "stauts quo". If you remember a brother name Shawn King who went there, he spoke that truth that the administration did not like. Moreover, when the whole issue about "homophobia" came up after the gay bashing incident, the Omegas had a "town forum" about it, and it was crushed and they were suspended from the yard briefly for it. Now, as much as I love Morehouse, the administration at times were like puppets and they let "outside interest" and "donor dollars" compromise true intellectual discourse at times. But all in all, they should let the man speak. I mean, if Hitler was still alive, I'd love to hear what he had to say. Hitler was a shitbag of a human, but he was the great orator of our times...

Of course. If he was really a terrorist Bush would have killed him. America should not be as closed minded. We have all these preconceived notions bout the global view of Americans..... why not hear it straight from the horses mouth instead of CNN.....

If not then we at large as Americans are bitches...........

yeah.... lets tool up the entire middle east... that way..if everyone's got one... then they can all blow themselves to shit.....

So you saying they shouldnt? Pakistan and Indian been thrathening each other for how long, they aint going to do shit but bluff and see who has the biggest dick, however yes the entire middle east should tool up that way Isreal will think twice and stand the fuck down when they feel like they can invade and fuck with whom ever they want.

I love Morehouse dearly also, but don't forget the school is named after a white man.

Well...thats the point... let em spend all their money on nukes...

then... when they're governments each run out of cash from an arms race (nukes are expensive to build and maintain)

then they'll realize how silly it all is...

Yeah we lost on that one, better yet, who was the white broad that donated all that money for brothers to go to school and now they are gonna name a building after her??? What's fucked up about that is, the reason Spelman has the Camille Cosby building is because Morehouse didn't want a building named after a woman on campus, yet a white woman is going to get that honor.... :smh::smh::smh:

Shit is disgusting, but I still love that place though....

I've seen a lot of post by you in this thread.. but maybe I missed your answer to the question at hand (If I missed it, my apologies).

Do you feel he should have the right to speak at Morehouse?

edited to add: Yes, I think he should be allowed to speak, and visit Ground Zero.

I agree that it's best to formulate your own opinion of world leaders, because the media is biased as fuck.

I personally think Iran's president has occasionally reached out to the african american community; for strategic reasons. He's aware that a sizable percentage of the american muslim population is african american and he's basicly playing the leverage game. He isn't the first one to do this.

Oh yeah........... I think that he should speak at HBCUs and I gurantee that he will find the students more open-minded and less biased in dialogue.

Why shouldnt Iran have military nuclear capabilities? stop being an apologist for Isreal, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan and Iran are just itching to have maximum nuclean war heads pointed directly at Isreal and rightfully so, Isreal i mean is-it-real is allowed to break every U.N treaty and fuck with Lebenon and Palistine every chance they get, Isreal is just the U.S's middle east enforcer. Fuck them I say let Iran tool up
What in the FUCK makes you think I'm content with Isreal having or obtaining nukes? Too many ancient hates out there for folks to be having catastropic means to act upon them.

Isreal nor fundamentalist Islamic countries need to be holdin' nukes.

Shit, WE don't need 'em but I'm damn glad we have 'em.

D-Nice 1 (The Nice One)

No I did not answer the question in the exact same manner it was asked...

However, because I "support" free speech, I would have to say yes.

But let me clarify..Most people, including myself, have "limits" on the amount of "offensive" comments we are willing to tolerate. We're only human.

Ya see, how most people really behave is.... they "say" they support free speech, but at the same time, they have a "hidden" line in there minds, that when its crossed .... they react and don't wanna hear anymore.

Therefore, at the individual level, free speech can be a rather complex "ideal" to sort out.

Let me offer this as example... Lets say David Duke (Former head of the KKK) is offered an opportunity to speak at Morehouse. Am I in favorite of it...no... would I attend it...no...But does he have the right to speak there..yes....

And... if you didn't know, there have been black lawyers that have worked representing the KKK here in the south. I wouldn't do such a thing..... but they did...

Free speech is a two way street. Always keep that in mind.

As far as todays speech was concerned.... It went in a direction I totally did not expect. I was thinking it would a "love fest" with a bunch of "softball" questions. Past interviews with that guy by Mike Wallace and a few others were just a little too easy for him. I think he expected he was gonna get the same thing from Columbia University.

This man is very eloquent but dangerous as fuck. He's pretty much a well spoken version of that shit for brains George Bush. He's also a liar and a hypocrite.
However, I have to give him props for having a sit down at Columbia and fielding the questions. Dude is very quick on his feet. Very knowledgeable. You would never see that chimp, George Bush, do anything like that.

The man is a damn good salesman.

The guy should be able to speak in America because it is the USA and free speech and all that. But at a HBCU, I don't think so. I stopped having any positive ideas about him, as relates to Black people, when Iran held a conference about the Holocaust and whether or not it happened.

Well what really got me was he invited David Duke to present a paper.

The Iranian President may criticize the USA about its treatment of people of African descent here in america, but it is said only to make the USA look bad. It is interesting that Iran translated means land of the Aryan. Now, what that really means, I don't know.

my morehouse brother speaks nothing but the truth...i ride for the house but when it comes to controversy they are the best playing the yessir thankyou sir roll

Why? His people treat blacks just as bad as white do...so fuck him

u must've been clowned by 1 or sumthin. nephew actually served in the 1st iraq war and he was tellin me those middle eastern dudes really liked black americans. but they HATED white americans. guess u gotta ask yaself 'why?'

For him to speak at a black college, the college would have to be within a 25 mile radius of the UN in new york. That is how far he can travel in the US. Honestly, he hates America so much, yet steps on our soil. I do not get that. I dont know what the colombia univerity president was up to, his opening remarks were pointless. Why invite the guy just to rain childish insults on him.

If the students at Morehouse and/or Howard want to hear what he has to say, why not? That's what college is supposed to be all about: interacting with people of different backgrounds and philosophies and determining for yourself what is good or bad, or right and wrong in your own mind. i.e growing intellectually. There would probably be an issue with some of the members of the board of trustees at Morehouse anyway (can't speak for Howard) who have some Jewish members who would have an issue with someone like Ahmadinejad speaking to the student body.

Makes sense, if the majority of his thinking is governed based on Islam makes sense he would want to reach out to other Islamic communities..

Shit if I ran a country, and my two neighbors were invaded by a country that is after OIL. I damn sure would want nukes.

Fools are calling him Hitler.
Iran hasn't invaded anyone in recent years.
We have.

I was just thinking about this the other day. In the last 20 years, all the wars have involved the US or Israel.

On your nuke comment. Every country in the world would be smart to try to build a nuke. At the least, it makes other Nations think twice before they try to invade...

Morehouse or Howard couldn't afford for Ahmadinejad to speak at their schools. The donations would dry up so fast it wouldn't be funny. Plus, the media will have such a field day that you could only get a job in Iran with a diploma from an HBCU that hosted Ahmadinejad.

Remember, people are still debating as to why HBCUs are still around or if they are still needed.
