RFK JR.’S MAHA MILKSHAKE: FOOD REFORM, RECALLS & A LITTLE PUBLIC-HEALTH CHAOS

Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. came into HHS promising to clean up America’s food supply — less ultra-processed food, fewer questionable additives, fewer synthetic dyes and more scrutiny of what companies are putting on the grocery-store shelf.

The problem? Lately, the grocery store has been generating enough warning labels to qualify as its own medical journal.

In September alone, FDA notices included ground cinnamon recalled over elevated lead, alfalfa seeds over possible E. coli and Salmonella, applesauce over elevated patulin, and pasta over possible Listeria contamination. The FDA is also tracking active outbreaks involving Listeria, Salmonella, E. coli and raw-milk cheese.

And then there was the enormous 2026 Cyclospora outbreak linked to iceberg lettuce: federal officials ultimately reported 12,883 illnesses, 570 hospitalizations and two deaths across 21 states. Public-health officials and experts said the response exposed weaknesses in an already strained disease-surveillance system, including staffing and funding problems.

That’s where some of the criticism of Kennedy’s HHS gets uncomfortable: you can campaign against chemicals in cereal while still needing enough scientists, inspectors, epidemiologists and regulators to catch the stuff that can actually put people in the hospital. The FDA lost roughly 3,500 employees during the administration’s 2025 cuts and has since been trying to rebuild its workforce.

To Kennedy’s credit, HHS has moved on parts of his food agenda. In August it proposed requiring manufacturers to notify the FDA about ingredients they determine are “Generally Recognized as Safe,” while HHS and USDA also advanced work toward the first federal definition of ultra-processed foods.

So welcome to the MAHA Milkshake™:

Chief Justice John Roberts Shunned by His Neighbors as Backlash Over Pro-Fascist, Cruel, and Sadistic Trump Rulings Grows

Chief Justice John Roberts is being frozen out on the Maine island where he has summered for more than 20 years. Neighbors who once shared lobster dinners with him now keep their distance, skip gatherings, or show up to protest his rulings.

The break tracks the court's 2022 barbaric decision overturning Roe v. Wade and Roberts' 2024 opinion granting Donald Trump the same kind of broad immunity from prosecution that other authoritarian tyrants enjoy. Kayakers hold signs a few hundred yards from his house. "Roberts Benched the Constitution" appears on local roads. On Monhegan Island, people who recognized him chanted that he should be ashamed.

Longtime friends have pulled back. Members of a local cigar club skipped this summer's gatherings so they would not have to sit with Roberts and his wife. "It's harder for him to feel comfortable approaching people — and vice versa," said Mary Anne Mason, a former law partner.

His security detail has grown. He used to linger on the dock after church; on protest days he stays away. Wendy Schlotterbeck, a longtime neighbor, said she wanted to ask him directly: "Do you realize what your decisions are doing to my family and my community?"

A recent Gallup poll put the fascist-friendly Roberts Supreme Court's approval at a record low of 33% — which is still 33% higher than it should be.

Package and ship direct to Black families. Stop complaining and waiting for Trump. We have more than enough long haulers, more than enough storefront programmers and design specialist. Ship cheap cuts to where it fits that economy and flip the grass fed organic shit for the high end consumers. You can't tell me these farms can't property market their products to 40 to 50 million Black people for a reasonable consistent profit.
Everything you said makes sense, especially if they band together to form some sort of "co-op" to combine resources to pull it off.

However, I think the other side of it, why should they not get the same federal funds and benefits white farmers are getting?

Sarah Huckabee Sanders Fires Back At Far-Right Fury Over Her Welfare Fraud Ad

Pocharapon Neammanee

~2 minutes

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) pushed back against the outrage she’s facing from others within the MAGA movement who were triggered by her anti-welfare fraud ad depicting a white man.

“Well, I frankly think it is overblown and incredibly manufactured,” Sanders said defending her ad on Fox News Thursday.

“We know that there are a variety of different people who, instead of working, are choosing not to and getting government benefits,” she added.

Controversial commentators fumed online over seeing “Brad,” a white man playing a video game and scarfing down potato chips, as the person representing welfare fraud in the ad.

Sanders told viewers in the ad that Brad had “turned relaxing into a full-time profession” and that “you pay taxes to cover welfare for guys like Brad who just choose not to work.”

Among those who took full offense to seeing a white man depict welfare fraud was right-wing pastor Joel Webbon, who told Sanders on X, “You should make your message more believable by picking someone Black.”

The Arkansas governor initially responded to the criticism, quipping that, “Next thing you know they’ll say I should have used cookies instead of cheese balls.”

“We’re getting the job done, and I think that instead of conservatives attacking other conservatives, they should be supporting that policy,” she said on Fox News, defending herself once again.
