Trump says he ‘doesn’t want to be Herbert Hoover,’ so he wants the economy to crash

"When there's a crash, I hope it's going to be during this next 12 months because I don't want to be Herbert Hoover. The one president—I just don't want to be Herbert Hoover," Trump said, CNN first reported.

Fox News’s Baier presses Vance on Trump’s $5K dividend promise

Fox News anchor Bret Baier pressed Vice President Vance on President Trump’s pledge to give Americans $5,000 if Republicans keep control of Congress come November, saying critics would respond to the roughly $1.3 trillion payout as “bribing voters.”

“I can hear the critics’ heads exploding,” Baier told Vance late Wednesday, hours after Trump made the vow on the first night of the GOP midterm convention in Dallas.

“They’re saying out loud, I guarantee you: ‘The president is bribing voters to vote for Republicans to take over the House, and then he’s bankrupting the country because the deficit and debt is huge and inflation would come back if this comes into play,’” the host added.

Vance defended the proposal, calling the payments a “dividend for American workers.”

“We’re taking an extraordinary amount of revenue,” he said, referring to the revenue generated by Trump’s tariffs, which he said Americans should receive a share of. The administration previously floated $2,000 tariff dividends.

“If you keep us in power and allow us to continue to do these things, then you’re going to share in some of the benefit of this incredible wealth that we’re creating in the United States of America,” the vice president continued. “I don’t think it’s a controversial idea.”

Trump announced the proposal during his nearly two-hour speech, saying he would issue a $5,000 “dividend” to every adult U.S. citizen if Republicans maintain majorities in the House and Senate in November.

“Because of our tremendous strength and success economically, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000,” the president told the crowd.

He also said the money would need to be spent domestically but did not provide details.

“We don’t want you going to Canada to spend the money,” Trump added. “We don’t want you going to China, to Germany.”

Congress would need to approve the payment, and with roughly 270 million adults in the U.S., sending each of them $5,000 would cost more than $1 trillion. U.S. tariff revenue would also fall short of covering the full cost of the payments as the president described them, according to The Associated Press.

TRUTH SOCIAL: US President Donald Trump has used the Republican midterms convention to clarify statements he made earlier this week regarding his actions on the morning of September 11th 2001.

Initially, Trump claimed that he was "dragged out" of the rubble by the New York Fire Department after he went down there to help.

Those statements attracted criticism for being false, and Trump has been accused of making similar claims in the past.

Today at the convention in Texas, Trump explained that he was actually the fireman that was doing the rescuing.

"They deputised me, I was down there hauling people out of the rubble. I had them deputise my whole team. We had Joey down there. Pauly. Leo. Pauly was great but he was very fat. He would've been too fat to be a fireman otherwise. It was always a dream of Pauly, he's a great guy. but very fat. It was always his dream to be a fireman but everyone said, 'Pauly! You're too fat!' and he was, he ate too much, but he was a great guy. Still is, I think he's living in Long Island now,"

"There were many of us down there, getting people out of the rubble. I still think about it all the time."

These most recent remarks regarding 9/11 have also attracted vast and diverse criticism from essentially every major news outlet in the world.

The story is developing.

More to come.

Look at this DISGUSTING, TOTAL FAKE NEWS MEME being put out by low-IQ Radical Left trolls. Absolute GARBAGE!

First of all, Barron is a genius, top 1% genes—he gets straight A's at his prestigious university and he only reads high-end, luxury financial papers, not some fake 1990s newspaper from the Twin Cities!

Second, Melania speaks FIVE LANGUAGES fluently—English, French, German, Italian, and Slovene! Pure elegance! She doesn't need to speak Greek, but if she wanted to, she would speak the best Greek anyone has ever heard!

The Radical Left is so obsessed with my beautiful family because they are LOSING on the economy, losing on the border, and losing on everything else! They have to invent fake classified ads from 1995 because they have ZERO policies! Total desperation!

MY FAMILY IS HIGH CLASS, HIGH IQ, AND TOTAL ELEGANCE!
