I’m curious to see how the numbers would look if I had shorted SpaceX when it reached $225.

If you shorted SpaceX (SPCX) at its peak of $225.00 per share, that position would be worth roughly $114 to $118 in profit per share today, representing an ~51% to 52% return (excluding short borrow fees, margin interest, and broker commissions).
The Math Breakdown

Metric
Share Price / Value
Short Entry Price
$225.00 (Peak post-IPO)

Current Price

~$107.00 – $111.00

Profit Per Share

~$114.00 – $118.00

Return on Position

~50.7% – 52.4%
Example Scenarios
  • 10 Shares Shorted:
    • Initial short value: $2,250
    • Cost to buy back (cover): ~$1,070 – $1,110
    • Net Profit: ~$1,140 – $1,180
  • 100 Shares Shorted:
    • Initial short value: $22,500
    • Cost to buy back (cover): ~$10,700 – $11,100
    • Net Profit: ~$11,400 – $11,800
What Caused the Drop?
Following SpaceX's record IPO (which debuted at $135 and peaked at $225), shares plummeted by over half:
  1. Valuation Digest: Investors began scrutinizing the $1.77+ trillion market cap and underlying financials, including over $13 billion in cumulative losses since 2023.
  2. AI & xAI Drag: Wall Street grew cautious about heavy capital spending on orbital AI infrastructure and the integration of xAI.
  3. Broader Tech Pullback: Broader softness in high-valuation tech and EV stocks (like Tesla) further accelerated profit-taking.
Note on Real-World Shorting: Realized gains on short positions are reduced by short borrow fees (which are often very high for recently IPO'd, highly volatile stocks), margin maintenance requirements, and taxes.

Microsoft 365 Copilot reached a major adoption milestone in the quarter, surpassing 30 million paid seats, with net seat additions more than doubling sequentially as enterprise demand accelerated. The product is rapidly evolving beyond basic chat into multi-step “Cowork” experiences (now generally available) and longer-running autonomous “Autopilots,” including an always-on personal agent, while quality improvements drove user satisfaction scores that doubled over the past three quarters to an all-time high and cut latency by 25% in the period alone. Usage intensity also strengthened markedly…conversations per user nearly doubled year-over-year, average weekly engagement reached parity with Outlook and Teams, and the time from deployment to high usage (monthly active rates above 80% across a customer’s user base) compressed from months to just days. **Large-scale rollouts underscored the momentum:** NHS England is deploying to 505,000 clinicians and staff after a trial showed average daily time savings of 43 minutes; KPMG is expanding across its more than 276,000 professionals; HSBC committed to 200,000 seats; and multiple other organizations (including AstraZeneca, Boeing, Infosys, Procter & Gamble, and others) each purchased 60,000 or more seats. Customers with more than 50,000 seats rose over 7× year-over-year, and the share of enterprise customers deploying Copilot to a majority of their information workers grew nearly 75% quarter-over-quarter. Traction for the new E7 suite (bundling Copilot with E5, Entra, and Agent 365) was also strong, with hundreds of enterprises already purchasing millions of seats just two months after launch…including EY’s 400,000-employee deployment—and Microsoft is further expanding the model beyond pure per-seat licensing into seats-plus-consumption pricing, including usage-based billing for Cowork.

Hey fellas hear me out.....
I think it might (possibly) be time to consider rotating some of your investments into crypto pretty soon :dunno:
Dollar cost averaging over the next few months :dunno:

South Korea's market is in freefall
Japan is having issues with its economy & currency
Over here in the USA, this AI bubble might be running out of steam pretty soon
Tokenized assets & blockchain will more than likely be part of the future going forward

When the shit finally hits the fan, yall won't be able to buy any crypto
Because public exchanges (Coinbase, Finance, Gemini, Kraken) will probably be having database errors, like @HNIC is running it ;)
This is what happened last year, October 2025
So you need to be at least somewhat positioned beforehand

Large financial institutions (like Blackrock & Fidelity, etc, etc) are buying from private brokers
So they won't have a problem.....but you will
Don't be too too greedy trying to squeeze every dollar, close to the top of this stock market bubble

Check out this youtube vid below, when y'all get a chance.....
