Kill Trip

This felt like a student film and then some and thats not necessarily a bad thing but i wish the writer had come up with something more interesting and involving. Now i was curious about a couple of characters, what they were up to and what exactly was the history between them. Some nice eye candy is provided. So many characters are introduced but nothing much is done with them. They felt like filler. So many scenes are drawn out with lazy dialogue delivery. Even the kills were kind of boring. The one thing this movie solidly says is sometimes friends really aren't friends especially when on a road trip with them.

Scale of 1 to 10 a 2
A 2, I'm not sure i have seen a grade that low from you. I will stay away but now I'm curious, haha.

Sidenote: My kid wanted to take a road trip with 10 friends I said no and he said he understood.

I still laugh about the original Child's Play movie. My friend's mom took us out for dinner and to see the movie while in 3rd grade ... on a school night! She asked permission from my mom first, and we liked the movie and weren't scared too much, lol. Shoutout to Louise!

Another's friend's dad took his son and me to see Pulp Fiction while in junior high. Shoutout to Dennis for taking us to that one, lol.

Meanwhile your boy HFunk was using the family video store card to rent porn while in high school. Later buying VHS tapes from adult video stores in the years following.

Thank God for the internet thereafter!

Spider-Man: Brand New Day

PRAISE : So how is Peter Parker / Spider-Man ( Tom Holland )doing without his girlfriend MJ (Zendaya) and best friend Ned Leeds
(Jacob Batalon) in his life? Well he's fully invested in being Spider Man but longing for those past relationships. One of the best things about this movie is the raw emotion from several characters. I thought the scenes between characters worked really well especially between Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle / Punisher and Spider-Man in fact i wanted more of it as their own wounded psyches were displayed to each other. I liked that Frank Castle / Punisher was still Frank Castle / Punisher they worked their way around this movie being PG-13 in a perfect way. I liked the bond Spider-Man has with Liza Colón-Zayas as Detective Jean DeWolff. It felt like it was a needed relationship in the movie. My worries about the movie being to overloaded with characters vanished in about 10 minutes. They get everything right when it involves the power set of a character. It was done so well in a standout action sequence in the movie. There's this honest feel to the relationships in the feel and what happens to the characters that really worked for me. The action sequences were really well done accompanied by some great sound and music by Michael Giacchino. The second half has the vibe of a couple of Stephen King stories and i thought Director Destin Daniel Cretton and writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers presented something that was compelling and involving and at times humorous. I enjoyed the dynamics that were set up it actualy felt natural and that it will definitely evolve..A similar thread in the last several Marvel movies have been about time and loss and it seems that this thread will continue in the next two major Marvel movies, and if they can have the same vibe that is brought out in this movie im in high anticipation in what's to come.

PROBLEMS : At times I felt things were a bit off with the way a character uses their powers. Why go through A to Z when you can easily go to A to B ? Just to draw out an action sequence?. Sure i know the character was trying to be deceptive and taunting but all i could think of while watching a specific sequence with the character play out was this doesnt make any sense and can we just move on from this ?!? There are a couple of predictable moments

Scale of 1 to 10 an 8½

A Canadian film producer has been arrested and charged with seven counts of wire fraud after allegedly engaging in a Ponzi scheme by using US$100 million in investor funds to repay prior investors.

According to an indictment unsealed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Illinois, from 2019 to 2026, 60-year-old Jason Cloth of Beverly Hills, Calif., solicited various clients to invest in film and entertainment projects.

“Cloth fraudulently obtained more than $100 million from (an) Illinois investment advisor, the advisor’s clients, and other investors based on false representations about the performance and value of their investments,” a press release said on Wednesday.

“Cloth knew at the time of the investments that he would use the money for other purposes, including the development of a real estate project in Canada,” the release added.

Cloth, who operates the Canadian-based Creative Wealth Media Finance Corp., was arrested Tuesday in Los Angeles where he made an initial court appearance, according to the release.

Prosecutors are seeking at least $12.25 million from Cloth for the projects identified in the indictment.

Going through different people's minds was kinda frustrating at times.

Supergirl 2026

I'm going into this review with trepidation y'all. I'm well aware that per the new rules, as a male any negative review of this movie will instantly open me up to incel allegations. That being said....

THIS MOVIE IS FUCKING TERRIBLE!!!!

Every problem with basic action movies and superhero fatigue is present & accounted for. I could hear the CinemaSins ding going off in my head at least once every few minutes.

The first 20 minutes of the movie present Supergirl as a completely unlikable person. She's opens the movie as a do nothing drunk who just wants to wallow in sorrow and depression. Too bad I already saw Handcock :dunno:

They paint her in such a bad light that the only way they have to make the audience care for her is to injury her dog for cheap sympathy. Too bad I already saw John Wick :dunno:

Which of course leads to the artificial force time crunch and the golden mcguffin to remind the audience of said time crunch.

And if this review is already seeming too long, here's a music video to keep recapture your attention.

I hope you like that cause this movie can't go 10 minutes without becoming music video. Hollywood really doesnt respect their audience and they know they have to throw in loud music and bright CGI lights every few minutes to keep people interested.

Every symptom of superhero fatigue is present in this movie minus someone doing a superhero landing. I think that's the only one they missed.
  • Actors walking from the left of the screen to the right while a bunch of CGI nonsense happens around them .... check
  • The two protagonists having a stupid fight to usher in the 3rd act.... check
  • A villian so weak that we never learn ANYTHING about them and walk away from the movie not evening remembering his name .... check
They even throw in some human trafficking of young girls, so the hero has extra motivation to get the bad guy. Too bad I already saw Black Widow :dunno:

At this moment you might be thinking this review has gone on for too long again. Don't worry tho, here's a random insert of Superman.

You people really like this Superman (for some reason :dunno:) so the movie is here to show him every 20 minutes or so. Just so you don't forget that his exist in the universe.

Good God they have multiple scenes of her floating in space, only to come across the yellow sun and get her powers back. Every one of those scene reminded me if Princess Leia figuring out that because her brother is jedi, she also has powers.

I've always loved the Supergirl character. In the comics and the animated series she was amazing. They even have young Queen Rhaenyra in the lead role. I really wanted to like this movie. More importantly I wanted the public to like this movie and the character. But this is not the one y'all.

From the open moments (which is a music video montage) to the lackluster finale, this movie is wall to wall bullshit. Right up there with Superman, Deadpool/Wolverine, or Black Adam.

The Bride!
2026

4/10

I watched this movie this evening at home on HBO MAX.

It’s a part Sci-Fi, part Rom-Com on the dark side.

The film is a basic retelling of the 1935 ‘The Bride of Frankenstein’. It’s mainly done from a female POV. Because of this, this is not a film to be watched by ‘InCells’. If you hate and despise women, this film is not for you. There are a number of scenes and dialogue throughout the film that you will find offensive.

It has some dark humor throughout.

There is a mid-credit scene.

Synopsis

Frankenstein's monster travels to 1930s Chicago to have a scientist create a companion for him, resulting in the revival of a murdered woman, who becomes the Bride.

I've liked his work over the years.

Last saw him in the final season of The Righteous Gemstones. He was used effectively. Especially in the scene with "Red Red Wine" playing as the score or in the background.

Y'all just hating. The movie is nowhere as bad as people are trying to make it. The story is not original it is your typical Samurai 7 plot but with super girl instead of multiple heroes. This movie is suppose to be a one off introduction to the character that did not require her to be fighting any main timeline villains. I think people are mad because the chic does look like the little wild kid in Mad Max and doesn't have much sex appeal.
