MOVIES ~ Any of ya'll seen any good (or shitty) movies in recent weeks/months? Post reviews, feedback, movie news, trailers, recommendations, etc ...

Motor City

PRAISE: This movie may lack in dialogue but it makes up for it in so many satisfying ways. The story is about John Miller (Alan Ritchson), an ex-con, on a quest for revenge against a gangster (Ben Foster) who framed him for a crime he didn't commit. The cast including:Shailene Woodley as Sophia, Amar Chadha-Patel as Singh, Ben McKenzie as Kent and Lionel Boyce as Youngblood, have to be more expressive as usual as their scenes play out because this was like watching a silent movie minus the in between scenes captioned and descriptive cards. I had forgotten how much i missed seeing Woodley on the big screen. I loved that a lot of the movie looked similar to an Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips graphic novel. I liked that Writer Chad St. John andDirector Potsy Ponciroli took a chance with the movies uniqueness also providing some very stylish scenes. As soon as i questioned something in the movie it was quickly answered. I liked how the movie displayed how love and revenge are at times just constant fixations in life. This movie demands its audience to pay attention because you really might miss something. The action sequences are bloody, intense and involving and truly not for the faint of heart. I can't remember the last time i smiled so much watching the last 4 minutes of a movie.

PROBLEMS : I could complain about some minor things like the CGI but I really can't bring myself to go all in.

One of my favorites of 2026

I started watching this last night, but after 20 minutes, I tapped out.

Kill Trip

This felt like a student film and then some and thats not necessarily a bad thing but i wish the writer had come up with something more interesting and involving. Now i was curious about a couple of characters, what they were up to and what exactly was the history between them. Some nice eye candy is provided. So many characters are introduced but nothing much is done with them. They felt like filler. So many scenes are drawn out with lazy dialogue delivery. Even the kills were kind of boring. The one thing this movie solidly says is sometimes friends really aren't friends especially when on a road trip with them.

DUBLIN - Irish singer-songwriter Glen Hansard, who won an Academy Award for the 2007 film “Once,” died in a motorcycle crash on the outskirts of Dublin early Wednesday, his management said. He was 56.

ATC Management told broadcaster RTE Hansard’s family was “deeply shocked and heartbroken” by his death.

Irish police said a man in his 50s died in single vehicle motorcycle crash in Lucan on the western outskirts of the Irish capital before 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The man, who they did not name, was treated at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Hansard combined acting and a musical career. He played a member of a Dublin soul band in the hit 1991 movie “The Commitments” and won an Oscar in 2008 for the song “Falling Slowly” from the indie musical “Once,” in which he starred alongside Marketa Irglova.
