Exactly! Jump scares are my favorite thing about horror movies.
They aight. They're cheap though. It really doesn't require good writing or setting to make them work. Personally, they don't even make me jump anymore either.
I bet it's going to set up for a sequel..they think theyve killed but she gets away somehow.. then in the final scene some girl and her brother who around the same age come home from school and the mother says "Oh,glad you two are home..meet your new nanny! "
