UPDATE: Donald Trump Takes Office as the 47th US President

Too many Dems are talking about fascism, project 2025, court precedent, No Kings and shit like that.

Bruh it's ok to criticize a party to help it get better. Just running it back is a recipe for repeated failure.
Well, they should be talking about that. In fact, they didn't talk about that stuff enough in 2024. There's room to talk about both Trump's anti-Democracy moves and kitchen table stuff.

The electorate has told you they only care about one of those things. So yes, you can be stubborn and tell the voters you will talk about what you want to talk about no matter what they want.

Just don't be surprised when they vote for the other party.

I don't give a fuck about what the electorate supposedly cares about. They're mostly retarded and I'm not a politician. The truth should be spoken regardless of how popular it is.

Anyway, Mamdani, who's likely the most popular Democrat right now, has managed to do both of those things. Yes, he's talked about kitchen table stuff but he's also called Trump a fascist, to his face.

And that is how you lose every swing state the House and the Senate.

It's not rocket science.

And show me some Mamdani messaging on fascism... He called Trump that, but he talks to voters about the things THEY care about.

And that is why he succeeds

Campaigning as Republicans-lite is the reason you lose swing states. People are tired of moderation most of all.

I agree. It's not rocket science.

He called Trump a fascist while campaigning. How is that not messaging? A good politician should be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. You can point out that Trump is hurting the economy and still show that he's a threat to democracy, the press, civil rights, and nearly every institution we claim to value.

Oh, and again, I'm not a politician or political strategist so I didn't lose anything.

TRUMP–XI SUMMIT DOWNSIZED AS EXPECTATIONS FALL

The Trump–Xi meeting in Beijing is now expected to be a limited, low-impact summit focused on maintaining stability rather than major deals.

Key topics include trade, Iran, and fentanyl, but analysts say the U.S. has little leverage and Beijing is offering no clear agenda or concessions.

Instead of a “grand bargain,” the talks are likely to yield only modest steps like extending existing trade truces and maintaining limited sector cooperation.

Experts say shifting geopolitical conditions have strengthened China’s position, making meaningful breakthroughs unlikely.

Well the voters said their top issues were the economy, crime, and immigration. Kamala didn't run as Republican-lite. But you also can't say that in an election where almost every single county and district - including in California and New York - moved to the right, that the reason is because Dems weren't radically left enough.

Dems are stubborn as fuck. They always want to make the message about what they want. Which is why they only win when people are angry at Republicans. We have lost affirmative action, roe, now the voting rights act because of it. Dems pointed out that Trump's a threat to democracy, the press, civil rights, and nearly every institution we claim to value every single day of the 2024 campaign and got dog walked. So of course Dems will insist on doing it again lol.

They asked Mamdani if he thought Trump was a fascist, and he said "yes". That's not messaging. That's answering a question. He's barely mentioned it since.

So you elitist, political junkie dems can keep talking to each other. All dems that actually want to win elections and make a difference, follow this lead.

Not a single mention of fascism, democracy or project 2025...

You couldn't be more wrong here. He gave a speech as a mayoral candidate where he went into great detail about Trump's authoritarianism.

"Let me be clear. This is not a moment for capitulation. We are in a period of political darkness. Donald Trump and his ICE agents are snatching our immigrant neighbors from our city in broad daylight, right before our eyes. His authoritarian administration is waging a scorched-earth campaign of retribution against any who dared oppose them, against the courts that dare hold them accountable, and against our trans and queer neighbors for simply daring to be themselves

We are living in the times that we read about. I know that for many of us when we look back at moments in history that rhyme with today, where tyranny loomed and the state imposed violence with sinister glee, we ask ourselves what we would have done. We need not wonder. That time is now."

If that's not messaging, what is it?

And the posts he's made since becoming mayor aren't relevant in a discussion about campaigning. He stopped campaigning and began governing when he got into office.

Meet the woman reportedly behind some of Trump’s biggest and most controversial Truth Social rants

Ariana Baio
May 13, 2026

A longtime devoted aide to President Donald Trump, who credits him with saving her life, is reportedly the primary White House staffer helping the president churn out posts on Truth Social.

Natalie Harp, the 34-year-old executive assistant to the president, compiles screenshots of social media posts from allies or fans praising the president, bolstering familiar conspiracy theories, condemning Democrats or insulting Trump’s opponents for the president to review, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Once Trump approves the content, via phyiscally printed-out drafts, Harp goes onto the president’s Truth Social account and posts them – often during off-hours such as late at night, over the weekend or even on holidays.

The president does post messages on his Truth Social account himself too, White House officials told the Journal...
