Two Unpopular opinions, same movie/series
- Mia
- Harper Stewart
In the movie The Best Man, Harper was a terrible person. But Harper didn't fuck me - Mia Fucked Harper. Not the same thing.
While the cheating wasn't his fault:
Mia TOOK THAT DICK. She fucked Harper, not the other way around. She wanted REVENGE, even if it ain't as only in her mind. Revenge for all of the false paternity suits, revenge for every bitch Lance ever fucked while they were together.
Harper was not leaving that room without giving her that dick that night. She took that shit. She needed that revenge to make the boards even in her head. "Yeah, Lance fucked a hundred bitched, but I got mine. And mine was better."
Mia for as much as he loved Lance she wasn't one of these money grubbing bitches. She was fully ready to leave Lance, damn the money, damn the contract. That wasn't her motivation. She loved this mother fucker and he broke her heart, and broken hearts need payback. She got her one and done.
I respect Mia. She could have gotten a random dick, but no. She intentionally got someone who would hurt Lance the most if he knew even though he was never going to know (she didn't know Harper was a bitch that would air dirty laundry that no one even knew was there)
Mia didn't do a random guy because he didn't want it getting back to Lance. This was revenge in HER mind, like stealing $1000 from someone who stole $1000 from you and promised to never do it again.
This made her square in her mind, and like I said, I respect her for that because Lance was a whole ass hoe that she probably should have left. Lance even admitted himself during the bathroom scene that if Mia did step out on him he would just have to eat it and forgive her because he deserved it.

But, back to harper. I loved when Terrence Howard said, "You my judge, right? You judging me? You do dirt too, you shit just ain't caught you yet.
He was such a horrible fucking human being. First off, what happened between him and Mia could have stayed between him and Mia. No one saw it. No one knew. No one else needed to know that shit ever happened.
Problem is, Harper has no imagination, and with no imagination you can't write books. And you can't write books if you don't have an imagination.
So he wrote about the only thing he knew - his crew, with the ridiculous notion that if I change the names and turning the football player into a basketball player that nobody will realize I'm talking about them.
Bullshit. That shit was as see through as glass.
Then he told Jordan (Nia Long) that it was her fault, again avoiding accountability for his fuck up. He said they were supposed to be in marital bliss when the book came out. Marital bliss? That's the type of shit that starts divorce proceedings.
Harper No Imagination Part 2:
Again, out of ideas because he has none, this mother fucker was going to write an unauthorized biography on his friend. That's some sneaky, dirty shit. Then he was exposed and almost lost his friend again.
He was a bumbling idiot and Taye Diggs played him perfectly. And in the series, best man final chapters, he was even more of a bitch. He's selfish and self-absorbed and talentless. That's a motherfucker who deserves nothing
