The 2026 Oscars marked a record-breaking night for horror films, with the genre collecting eight Academy Awards. “Sinners” led the way with four wins, while “Frankenstein” claimed three craft prizes, and Madigan for “Weapons.” The total surpasses the previous record of five wins, all earned by “The Silence of the Lambs” (1991).
I haven't seen Frankenstein yet but Sinners and Weapons definitely deserved flowers. Overall, I have no problems with the choices The Academy made this year.
I disagree with that part.
But I am very happy that genre films getting recognition
I assumed you would. I, personally, don't care enough about the Oscars for it to matter much to me though.
