Quick funny story for you. Went to grade school with a girl and lost touch for about 5 years as she went to different high schools thereafter. Bumped into her on the city bus during freshman year of college. We quickly rebuilt the friendship and would catch up on the bus a few times a week as we didn't have any classes together. We got to talking about family, and she had a number of siblings. She asked about my parents' ages at that present time, and I said late-40s / early-50s (as I was 18).
She noted her dad was 72yo.
I sat there doing mathematical gymnastics trying to process what she said.
She started laughing as she knew it was wild that her dad was 53 - 54yo when she was born, and that I was processing that info. Had me laughin' too.
Shoutout to Dawn and her family. I think her dad's about 100 now.

Wemby had to get knowledge of the game from somewhere and somebody. He learned from Durant, he learned from the past which allowed him to develop and curate the skills that he has today.
He wouldn’t have the same skill set in the 80’s, he’d just be tall. That was the point and the joke but it went over your head…

Nah, I thought you might have meant that but you're missing the point. Of course these players weren't just born better and have the advantage of building on previous generations.
Despite that, many still claim that the players in these previous generations were better. When the truth is that they would look at some of these players as possibly literal gods.
My point was, regardless of why, these players are much, much better.
Yes due to many factors including the advancement of time, yes the majority of players are better than the players of the past.
