You qualified your statement by saying you don't have kids. I asked you to imagine if it was your son and that was your response. Clearly you think that means something very valuable to your assessment so why would any rational person even care or want you on a jury? You said your piece. Now you are trying to revise what I think was a completely irrational response. We have enough information to know that that nigga got fired for his assualt on a 6th grader but no, you need ALL the forensic evidence to label the spade.

But as teacher what are you suppose to do when a kid who is physically imposing attacks you? You could get seriously hurt by not defending yourself on instinct.

Yeah, I do need ALL the forensic evidence. Oversites like that have sent innocent black men to the electric chair. And that's a world of difference from having a tooth knocked out. Pick your battles. Some shit you just got to let go of. If a kid is hell bent on being unruly, let them leave. Contact school resource officer and principal.

And you have to defend yourself, you better hope some students recorded the whole thing.

Bottom line is you can’t touch em and no parent wants their kid harmed by another adult.

You take the “L” and call for your SRO or admin. You always go into the hallway so that them assaulting you is on camera (assuming your campus has them…). Our building has “call” buttons on them so we can hit it and just let the front office and security know we’re being assaulted. In my case, in one of seven trained in “handle with care”, which is some BS training on how to diffuse and restrain with minimal violence.
I’ll simply say that you learn that some battles are never worth fighting and you have to learn your kids and what sets them off.

Back then if a kid did some some shit like this in the classroom, the parent would be called from work to come up to the school and beat their kids ass in front of everyone. These parents are soft as fuck and some of you motherfuckas justifying to make it ok for your kid to put hands on you being a parent is the reason why most of these bad ass kids become older doing dumb shit that lead to going to jail or worse getting killed.
 
Damn. That's my hood. I taught in Philly for three years. World History, US History, Social Studies, Geography then did wrap around at Germantown HS. Saw a teacher get slumped by a kid. I had it in my head that I was never gonna be a victim. If I was gonna make the news it was gonna be for retaliating, not taking an L. Thankfully, it never came to that. But I saw kids swing on kids with the attitude, "You're not allowed to yell at me or hit me back."

Depends on the damaged that was dealt. You come back with black eyes, bloody nose, busted lip, and a missing tooth, I can’t see many parents (if any) being ok with that. Even if others felt like you deserved it.

I'll say this,too many parents expect their child to be babysit by teachers. A teacher's job is to teach not to babysit someone's child. When,something like happens the parents want to be shocked even though their child was acting like an ass in school. Then,the child want to act all innocent in front of the camera.

We have too many parents want to be friends with their child instead of being a fucking parent. I'm not saying be a tyrant but at least tell your child to show some respect and not to put their hands on an adult.
