Travis Scott stunned the rap world in 2016 when he was able to nab a then secret Kendrick Lamar feature. Now, it's his biggest hit ever.
Travis Scott has a lot of RIAA certifications to his name, including two to reach the elusive diamond status. That equates to 10 million units sold in the United States. Those tracks include "SICKO MODE" featuring Drake on 2018's ASTROWORLD and "goosebumps" with Kendrick Lamar on 2016's Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight.

The latter officially hit that mark on August 28, 2024, but actually was documented moving 13 million copies. Wildly enough though, just one day later, "goosebumps" was certified platinum 15 times over. In 2021, it was eight times platinum.
Then, in November it bumped another million to get to 16, tying it at the time with Drake's "God's Plan" as the highest-certified rap song of all time. His Scorpion smash hit that mark on October 30, 2023.
But now, Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar are in a league of their own. On Friday, October 3, per Kurrco, the Cardo Got Wings, CuBeatz, and Yung Exclusive-produced record jumped to 17 times platinum. That's quite the feat, especially, with how quickly "God's Plan" reached that height.
We will see how long the duo holds that title, but for now they can rightfully celebrate this massive accomplishment. Just like it was in 2016, "goosebumps" is still a widely beloved moment and song in La Flame's discography.

You can say what you want about his more recent output. However, you can't deny that his older stuff is pretty timeless and stays in constant rotation. For Kendrick, this just another mini leg up on his mortal enemy (you know we had to mention it).
But all three rappers will be vying for Grammy supremacy at next February's award show, looking to add more trophies to their respective piles. Lamar submitted tracks like "GOOD CREDIT," Clipse's "Chains & Whips," his SZA collabs "30 For 30" and "luther," and GNX for a host of categories.
Drake is looking to nab some wins with his $ome $exy $ongs 4 U running mate PARTYNEXTDOOR.

We still messing with Travis Scott?

I feel ya. He’s a mood type of artist. Drug type of artist. So yea if you do drugs or you like certain melodic moods then he’s solid. If not he’s a waste of time

^^^^And I respect it. Everything aint for everybody. But I do TRY to at least give it a chance and listen.

Nba youngboy I dont get either. And XXXtension, lil uzi vert. Not for me. I completely understand that is a SPECIFIC brand of hip hop. Overall I think its GOOD for hip hop to expand grow mature switch up. As long as the foundation is respected appreciated and not forgotten or abandoned.

I can and do listen to Griselda JID Doja Doechii Kendrick Coast Contra Jadakiss Ice Spice and Cardi. Those are all different genres of hip hop that can and should coexist.

And fans dont need to pit one against the other.

the one very definitive negative of the battle is that it reinforced an already problematic divide specifically in hip hop concerning taking sides. You can only like ONE artist or style of rap. That aint gonna end up being good for anyone if we continue to perpetuate that.

Hip Hop has always been diverse! From LL to Eric B, from EPMD to NWA; from Tribe to Public Enemy; from Pac to Nas; from Kdot to Future; its always been subdivisions within hip hop; and theres nothing wrong will liking all of them or some of them! Again I would listen to Drake only with women lol; im not listening to that nigga by myself; I aint never been into Uzi or XXX or NBA or them; I like meditating when listening to Travis; because hes a mood type; shit I was doing vacarious things at one point listening to him lol lol; not anymore though; and dont ask about those things that i will deny lol; but yes his new shit im not in too; so i feel ya; There will always be people who say you cant like this and that; its like saying i cant like chicken and turkey; they both poultry...

Your confirming my point

THIS GENERATION dont wanna do that.

They constantly complain about old heads nit getting out the way and bring too judgemental but they themselves alive in echo chambers and refuse to experiment out of their comfort zone over silly beefs.

And it ain't just hip-hop
