What does any of that have to do with being smart? Cops are not attorneys and work a case load. You think you could solve a stack of backlogged cases that easy? They arrest people all the time and cases get dropped or don’t go to trial because of the DA. Cases get thrown out too. This is Monday morning quarterbacking a job you have zero idea about. There are a ton of factors that play out why shit happens the way it does. If somebody kills a cop of course it’s easy to catch them. They usually do it in broad daylight light where everybody sees it or it’s captured on body cam vs a crime that requires investigation.
And when you say cops you mean detectives? Those are the cops that work cases and present to the DA. You sit there and follow every detective to see when they submit a case to the DA? Nobody is keeping track of that shit but other detectives and attorneys .
