Joe and Parks are right
Mark is wrong
I think both are right. Best example of this was Shannon and Skip. Shannon knows more about the game than Skip, but to Joe and Parks point, Ryan probably (and I don't know that he didn't) do a breakdown of why he's right and Peter is wrong. It would be like if I went up there and told Joe about what it takes to be a rapper and why I think bars don't make sense and then he says "Yo, I did the rapping so you can STFU' and he would be justified in what he's saying. Just do a little bit more.
Its like if you tell your child "No" and she says "Why?" and the response is because I said so...like today, we as parents need to give a better response because we want our kids to think critically in certain situations (not all because sometimes, because i said so is warranted) so it may come off as explaining, but we want them to have a better understanding of the situation and look at the entire picture.
Joe and Parks are right
Mark is wrong
Joe and Parks are dead wrong.
It's also bad TV. Your goal isn't us versus them. It's for the viewer. Dominique has a quote about that.
and players don't even agree, which Mark said.
That same journalist would then be allowed to demean the player, because he can't articulate his thought as well, because he didn't go to school and have years of training?
It's a reason that Ryan apologized.
I agree that if we do what Ryan suggests that the facade is broken. Its all entertainment.
And Ryan WAS wrong and should apologize because it was uncalled fall disrespected and unnecessary to make his point.
But at its core? its true.
And the only reason its allowed is for platforms such as first take, social media and sports radio to exist.
We have some of the most unqualified voices spouting off against professionals who actually played.
Obviously all the players aren't equal on the field and intellectually in front of a camera or behind a keyboard able to express their points well.
But there is an undeniable truth in a person who can and did perform at the highest level. Their opinion has more weight.
We cannot deny that
I know thats exactly what got that ass hat in office but we cant continue to humor the sh*t like we currently have.
Most of the people with the worst takes are all former athletes
