Truthfully outside of a pool you may not be able to help no matter how great a swimmer you are since you're at the mercy of mother nature and dealing with weather conditions and terrain out if your control.

They just updated the story and he died swimming in the ocean after getting caught in a strong current
Got caught in a current on my 30th bday out in the carribean. Was swimming thenI looked back towards shore and mofos was looking like ants.
I tried to swim back but wasn't going nowhere. I got tired and panicked for second, then came to my senses calmed down and swam parallel until I got out that bitch. On the way back to shore I stepped on a fucking sea urchin.
But them currents are a bitch, also drinking alcohol and getting into the ocean are super dangerous(not saying this what happened to Malcolm)

He used to do midnight poetry slams every year for Black Theater fest in WS. Always a truly humble and introspective human being.RiP...listened to his podcast and he was just a good dude. Did music and seemed to be very open and honest about how he felt about anything. I had the resident in my queue to watch...

I got a chance to meet him years back when he was on tour doing poetry with his band. I opened for his Philly show and we chopped it up. We stayed cool over Facebook and IG and he'd reach out about Trashterpiece and even shared some episodes. He really was one of the coolest celebs out there. Humble as fuck. Really down to earth. We lost a good one. Condolences to his family. This sucks.

Wow! This one really hurts. Last week someone came up to me to tell me I resembled a particular celebrity. I told him I'd never heard the comparison, but I was always mistaken for MJW in my teens. We were both at NYU at the same time in the early 90s, so I would pass both him and Tempest Bledsoe on campus occasionally.
In addition to Cosby, I'll always remember him from Whodini's Funky Beat and Special Ed's I'm The Magnificent videos.
