Back in the day ... went on a whale watching tour with the fam' in the late-80s or early-90s. It was kind of boring to us kids, plus the weather was cool and rainy so we were just watching the clock and waiting for something to happen and drinking hot chocolate, lol. Other guests on the tour in the Ucluelet were older. Then near the end of the outing we saw a few smaller whales up close.
Man ... they're incredible. Made up for all the time just sitting around waiting for something to see, haha.

Agreed. It's plenty of waiting and anticipation. Even better to see them in their natural habitat too. Sitting there chilling with nothing to do with a hot chocolate. Later on ... whales up close.
* Goes back to school the following week ... tells classmates, lol.
