I’ve been thinking a lot about Murkowski’s vote. It contains, in one action, so much that defines our pathetic political moment:
Selfishness: I’m taking care of me and mine, the rest of you can pound sand;
Lack of accountability: I know the bill is bad, hopefully someone else will fix it;
Cowardice: I’m scared of Trump and his voters and need to go-along to get along with my GOP colleagues;
Moral rot: I know the difference between right and wrong, and actively chose wrong.
"Iran, if you're out there...."
I'm expecting to see a headline within the next 2-3hrs detailing how republicans fell in line and the bill passed...
Maybe but voters are putting hard pressure on them to go against this bill

They don’t give a fuck about the voters . Most of them will probably not even run for reelection next year.

The one thing I must say about Trump is that he’s certainly demonstrating how to effectively mobilize your party and ensure that you vote in the manner we desire. Regrettably, the Democratic Party lacks the ability to govern in this manner.
The so called good life of the 50s (which purposely excluded Black people) was made possible by policies and services they are gutting
When people say these kind of things publicly, do we think that these people have any intention of contesting an election they are actually trying to win?

A noun, verb, or interjection, conjunction, pronoun, and even a proposition.
Somebody cooking books, hiring teachers during the end of school and 70K govt employees during fed hiring freeze don't make sense.
Being ruthless and/or evil is often more efficient. We already knew this, and I don't give people credit for demonstrating it. It's certainly not the model you'd want decent people to follow.
...although at this point, if threat of violence was going to push us towards our positive goals... I'm not exactly living at the heart of my moral center right now....
