What unpopular opinions do you have? Hip-Hop/Rap edition

^^^^ @woodchuck

I always heard he had ghost producers.

So okay if you got a minute...

How many TOP producers have not just HELP but actual GHOST PRODUCERS?

Are Dre, Puff, Timbo, JD, Neptunes, etc REAL?

we all heard dre does have ghosts but is that really true if he does the mix and mastering?

We have legends who swear Dre is a genius in the studuo! And if he lists their name in the studio! is that still using a ghost? Mel man was never a secret, right?

we heard the same about Swizz for years is THAT true?

Those Casio beats were not his? No disrespect but it didn't seem that hard to make those.

And is that the reason ruff Ryder producers like Dame Grease were so mad when he came around and started doing all the beats?

why would artists not want the beat from the ghost who is going to be cheaper??!!

Is having the NAME on the record make that much of a difference? (I already know the answer but still)

I SEEN VIDEO of Swizz, Timbo, Pharrell make beats live...is that fake? Do they have NO TALENT?

How did they get THIS FAR THIS LONG with no TALENT???!!!

So wtf did Puff do in the studio then???!! he can't even play any instruments!

What I still think about:

1. The Vapors sounds like a disease of a hater.
2. What happened in that Burger King bathroom?
3. "I'm deadly as AIDS when it's time to rock a party" ~~Comparing a party to AIDS, that's wild.
4. I need to hear an all cursing album from Chubb Rock....
5. How did Flava Flav rap about attack of the living baseheads while being a basehead?
6. Could Terminator X really DJ? He seemed more like a prop on stage...
7. I bet Diddy didn't like the song It Takes Two, because that song isn't freak off friendly....
8. How did Nice and Smooth clear a Tracy Chapman 'fast car' sample? That was some low-key some legendary shit.
9. Paris the rapper spoke out against injustice and the police; however he must be the only rapper to speak out against them
and not to get a role as a police officer in a TV show or a movie.
10. I still think about that chick from X-Clan, she needed her own album...I would have been her OnlyFan....

That shit will ruin your childhood

Your favorite rappers and producers don’t do shit

The good ghostwriters and ghostproducers never said a word

Dre makes them sign nda’s

But if their beats are so good...

They don't need a dre co sign

They could get placements on their own!

Why go through a "super producer" who is going to take all the credit?

I under the writer because just cause you write dont mean you can rhyme or sing. But production I THOUGHT was a different animal

And in the instance of Dre once you agree to work with him you cannot work on anything else for a minimum of 3 years

One of my boys got hit by statik selektah

Did his production on his last two albums and when it came time to pay him statik said the 1,000 dollar Jordans he bought him was enough compensation

^^^

That's what I'm saying... I would rather link up with guys like you and have you be my connect or just try to do it myself.

The money

And the publishing

You get paid for the rest of your life off a Dre song

Even tho no one knows you produced it

I'm okay and UNDERSTAND that...if you get treated fairly and compensated.

My thing is....it makes THAT much difference if the beat is banging whose NAME is attached to it.

Some guy can;t just send YOU a beat and you pass along through your network and get it popping?

Does it make THAT much of a difference if you shopping a DRE beat (and that beat is mediocre)? Just cause its Dre its considered fire?

Okay lets get this out the way yes I am a huge clipse fan and I'm old.

Still.. these new dudes need to learn though

Watch this clip.

This is how to PERFORM a SONG.

this was a VISUAL medium being used to accentuate THEM the SONG and honor the culture

They were moving. Not jumping around not just moving their hands not mugging for the camera

They were PERFORMING and moving and engaging.

These new rap dudes have NO IDEA what to do on stage or in front of a camera

we NEED A&Rs again @dik cashmere
