apple's marketing is top notch....

the have convinced people that their product is not only a phone but a status symbol....

samsung makes a superior product but people STILL cling to apple....

vast majority of people have way more phone than they need....texting/taking pics & videos....scrolling social media....none of these things require a $1500 phone......

They have a captive audience. Like clockwork individuals will upgrade just to have the latest and businesses worried about security will buy iPhones by default because of upgrade cycles and new hires. Apple doesn’t have to be innovative just consistent.

People choose the OS and ecosystem over the hardware. I don't view any phone as a status symbol. I've tried Android's OS. Don't like it at all. But for everyone that does like it, good for them!

I'm in the ecosystem, so I can copy something on my iPhone then paste it into a field on my Macbook. Or I can start browsing a page on my iPad then pick up browsing it on my iPhone.

I'll never understand why Android users can never accept there are people that just prefer iOS and or don't like Android lol.

i understand it perfectly....

but just because YOU use it for the community doesnt mean they all do....

i bet you most people that have those phones dont even have an ipad....they just use it because they've always used it....

and who needs an ipad in 2025 anyway...or a tablet for that matter if it isnt for work....they're pretty pointless....and i have one lol....that i hardly ever use...you can do all that stuff on your phone...and its more convenient...

like i said their marketing is top notch....

the only reason i even bothered replying in here is because the thread is touting specs which most people

1 dont understand and

2. will never fully uttilize and

3. arent even the best for what you paying for
 
I have had an iPhone since the iphone 3GS back in 2008. Over the years, I get a new iPhone about every 4 years using some type of trade in deal to get a new one. Never had to pay full price for one. Another reason I have kept it is because everyone in my family has gotten an iPhone and Apple purposely locks you into their eco system if everyone you communicate with also has an iPhone.

I don't like the cheap screens on the basic model but it's 280 right now at microcenter.

Once again, just because you don’t use a tablet, doesn’t mean it’s pointless. There are millions of people the prefer a larger screen. I use my iPad more than I use my phone. I pretty much only use my phone when I leave the house. Everything else I do on my iPad.

I guess the main question is why do you care why people want the phone they buy? Or if they understand the specs?

Why do Android people always feel the need and entitlement to always tell people what they should want in a device and how they should use it?

That’s a genuine question I would like to know. Why does it bother or annoy Android users when someone doesn’t choose Android. And don’t say you guys don’t care because you post in every single iOS thread to say how Android is superior.

I'll jump in... It doesn't bother me in my personal circles, I get a kick out of letting my friends with iOS know they're paying for an overpriced device... I don't have to tell my lady because she's reminded every time we step out and my phone is the one taking the pictures... That ecosystem catch is a benefit, but not a necessity to pay the premium (to me)...

But again, we're just returning a favor from all the years of the "green bubble" chatter... Now that most Androids have surpassed the features and technical specs of iPhones we just don't mind letting y'all know... You may not have been aware of the green bubble joint, but for everyone one of you, there are 9 others there to say something regarding it... Friendly fire from both sides of the table...

Sidenote a lot of schools are moving away from Apple as well because they realize the value is not there for the price they were paying... I can't remember if I've engaged in this convo on here before, but I did click this thread just to see how much the phone would be - to get a good laugh

Pointless? You tried multi-tasking on your phone? Using documents and taking notes at the same time? Watching a youtube video and browsing the web? Extending your tablet screen to your PC? Gaming? Reading books? Watching media? Yes, it can be done on a phone, but it depends on how comfortable you want to be. You can also turn your tablet into desktop mode which resembles a PC.

I guess I don't understand the thought process. Most of the people on this forum are over the age of 30. Yet you have people acting like children when it comes to their tech of choice.

"My toy is better than your toy." "Can your toy do this?" "My toy can do 50 things at a time." "Bet your toy can't."

I personally don't care what any Android can do that an iPhone can't. It's irrelevant to me. My phone does what I need it to do.

Competition breeds innovation. Apple & Android need each other to push the envelope for what portable tech is capable of. Android users call Apple users sheep. But all they want is everyone to follow their shepherd of choice.
