Pat Riley is at it again, Miami will never get a big name because they never want to trade these mid tier young players. Oh well, their loss.
In this case, I like the refusal. KD is a vet, Miami needs to be younger and taller. Far too many times the Heat have chased a player with a high price tag and mileage, instead of building via the draft.

Miami needs to move Spo to the front office and get a coach that allows young talent to grow.

That's what i'm saying. A Caruso type deal for the Rockets I get. Hartenstein signing I get. Because at the end of the day those guys were easy fits because they did exactly what the Thunder want to do. Durant is now the best player on the Rockets.....its gonna change some things. It may work. I just personally as a NBA fan didn't think they needed something that drastic....plus like I said Durant track history not looking good lately. We get on Harden but Durant isn't looking much different.
I'm sure Durant knows he's not the best player like he once was but he can still help the team is what the rockets are betting on instead of being patient to rebuild.

Thunder added what they needed since they already had players that were good in their roles on that team which made it easy which didn't take much to get Caruso and hartenstein but not every team is built like the thunder to the point they can find another Caruso and hartenstein on the market .

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with that but if they're going that route, that's basically rebuilding. Because Miami doesn't have enough juice to contend with the players they currently have and KD would've help their chances to contend if he got traded there.

Do you have idea who that piece might be?
I would say a good center and or good guard to start with Steph. I think podz and buddy should come off the bench! So getting a starting center and a reliable guard would be solid! So for example Melton was solid with Curry but he can’t stay healthy! Him and curry would have worked well together! I would have to think about the center; maybe the Chicago center in just not sold on him though…

You talking about vucevic on Chicago.

In order for the deal to work Durant has to be the best player. I mean he is. i got respect for Sengun but in 2025 Durant is a better player then him. Amen Thompson is probably a year or two away from that conversation as well.

I'm not gonna slight KD....if he's healthy he's still one of the best especially offensively....but like others have stated its about injury....I don't think father time has caught him yet but it can bite at any time. Hartenstein and Caruso are ballers. Always have been. Nuggets and Lakers fans know. Knicks fans too. They just don't have the big time names but they always grade out well for their defensive skillsets. Great fits.

KD 37 I think so Father Time is on his ass for sure. I hope he stays healthy but I highly doubt it…

I'm sure they took that into consideration as well, his health hasn't been good lately at this point in his career with him being older but he's not the same player who can play heavy minutes. So, hopefully the young guys step up and KD would just be icing on the cake to do whatever needs to be done to help them win games.

Shit didn't know he was 37 I mean he played for the Supersonics so it makes sense but damn.....see that goes back to is this a rental for the Rockets? How much time he really got left? He got a wet jumper so he may have a Dirk type career when father time come but shit....damn. Yeah i feel worse about this move now this closer to a one year rental if anything...I know he still got it but you don't get healthier as you get older.

Trying to contend after Lebron left was a pipe dream. Miami's owner is cheap, so they've floundered and used majority G-league players giving max effort to stay off the bottom in the East. I hope a change in philosophy will give this organization a chance to rebuild the right way.
