}~~~> Official 2024/2025 NBA Thread<~~~{ OKC Thunder NBA champs}

It's not about promotion, it's about people/fans being interested in the players/teams. Promotion doesn't necessarily draw interest.
It does when the nba promotes it! Teams like LA and NYC or GS or Boston etc already have established fans basis as well as fans all over! Teams like pacers and OKC and New Orleans don’t have as many causal fans and or promoted like that; that’s another reason why the cba was push so heavy by the way. So when these teams are constantly in the news and constantly shown on tv and media; that’s when the casual fan and more audiences tune in! Again there’s a reason why Barkley said OKC has been the best team but the media was only talking about the lakers !!!

Jokic is a 3 time MVP and probably should be a 4 time MVP of the most popular basketball league in the world.

He needs no promotion, either people want to watch his team and him play or not.

SGA is the reigning MVP and his team has been one of the top teams "Regular season at least" for a few years.

Either people want to watch him and his team play or not.

The Lakers are talked about because of LeBron, we don't have to speak about Lebron and his history with the game.

With no Lebron and now Luka, the Lakers wouldn't be talked about.

I hear keep hearing many talking about promotion. I hate to bring her up but Caitlin Clark didn't and doesn't need promotion, muthafuckas just wanna see her play.

If the people are interested, then they'll watch.

Aside from legacy teams with built in fanbases, player and team interest is usually organic and not manufactured. Which at times forced promotion produces.

I hear ya, but shows and people talk about the teams that fans are interested in.

Missed the point! All good though

Nah I got your point, didn't really...

All good though
You did that’s what your comment didn’t apply. Again small market teams and players that don’t have a fan base outside their teams; people dont pay attention too! Nobody on the pacers or on OKC are big time outside of maybe Shai; and that’s pushing it; and OKC and Indy don’t have fans across the country; so of course people ain’t gonna pay attention as much; it’s as simple as that…

There's aren't many superstars or superstar teams that everyone pays attention to or likes to see play.

No matter what market they're in, it's as simple as that.

Before I comment who are you describing as casual fans?
The ones who root for any team LeBron plays for, the guys who watch for Steph, watch for Luka, the ones who watch every Caitlin/Reese game.

I don’t think this series is gonna attract the casuals…but it’s also early. I teel
You have to develop that with the casual fans…. They putting in work with OKC they promoting the hell out of SGA, Chet and Jalin but I think it’s gonna take some time.

Nice

Jalen's out there saying

You are right the this series not attracting those fans because the players and teams ain’t known to those fans! So I agree with you. Now once they become known and promoted correctly then they will attract some of those fans…

Man, to be real..The NBA is rigged!!..OKC should have beat The Pacers in this Game 6 and won the series!!...The NBA wanted this to go to a Game 7 for money and ratings!!...This is a rigged series!!....That's crazy!!

Eh…Not saying OKC did this but some teams “lay down” on the road in game 6 so they can have a chance to win game 7 in front of their home crowd.
