The French were the worst of all the colonizers.
I hope they get their justice one day.
We were a great influence and originator for almost all of the popular forms of music in this country.
Blues, Jazz, Rock and Roll, Funk, Soul Music, R&B, Hip Hop, we are the fathers of all of those genres.
White folks will tell you this, it's no secret. They take great pride in knowing all of the great black musicians singers etc,
But it was only when Beyonce made that fucked up record that we decided we started Country Music.
We did that to protect her from the criticism.
If you tell me we influenced country, I'll say OK,
You notice no one gets mad a Shaboozey about his record. We don't have to defend him because it's a damn good record.
Ray Charles, Charlie Pride, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown all great artist who were accepted in country.
My Father was born in 1925, lived to 2005. He loved Country Music and the Blues.
The old folks back then didn't want the kids to listen to the blues, it was considered devil music.
Of course they listened anyway.
I just don't remember a lot of Black Country Singers and Musicians at the forefront of Country Music.
Most people can list al of the great blues players going back to the early days of recorded music.
Lexx, I love you, but I'm not trying to protect that no talented chick.
