Definitely concentrate on your priorities but if you ever have free time or find that you need a new project, definitely consider writing that book. To be honest, I've never read a book solely about porn from the Black fan perspective. I've seen some scholarly presentations by Black academics about Black performers in the industry but they're usually about how racist (which is true) porn can be.tbh I have kind of thought about doing just that. There's been a couple of books on the Black porn scene but none of them have been great.... The best was one called MONEY SHOT (can't remember the author right now) but I halfway wanna take a crack at doing something better. Unfortunately my hands are always full with more pressing projects![]()
Anyway, one of my favorite non-scholarly books about porn is called Dirty! Dirty! Dirty! by Mike Edison. He's a Jewish dude from New York who was in the punk scene in the 80s and 90s. He knew a lot of people, traveled the world, and has a strong taste for the profane. The dude is also an amazing writer and does his homework. He's not a scholar by any means but his writing is entertaining and surprisingly informative.
