Co-worker said the same thing, we will know the truth when the new Pope is elected and how he moves forward. Would be crazy that a MAGA thinking Pope would get chosen.
Most of them don’t know shit about the Vatican or Pope(s). There are three and the white pope aka Jorge Mario Bergoglio was the front man. The Pope is the highest ranking position on the planet which makes him the de facto ruler.
Pope Francis was the rare leader who made us want to be better people. In his humility and his gestures at once simple and profound – embracing the sick, ministering to the homeless, washing the feet of young prisoners – he shook us out of our complacency and reminded us that we are all bound by moral obligations to God and one another.
Today, Michelle and I mourn with everyone around the world – Catholic and non-Catholic alike – who drew strength and inspiration from the Pope’s example. May we continue to heed his call to “never remain on the sidelines of this march of living hope.”

I mourn that the world is now without Pope Francis, a truly humane, love-powered leader and purveyor of nonviolence who understood that, as my father said, “We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.”
It is my prayer that Pope Francis’s earnest hope for global relief from poverty and war and his commitment to nonviolence as the pathway to lasting peace will continue to influence humanity.

I don't expect their new choice to be that extreme but I do expect that he'll be far more conservative than Pope Francis particularly on gay marriage, abortion, pre-marital sex, etc.

I thought I read my phone wrong. I just saw his ass yesterday. Granted he didn't look well. I was thinking why are they doing this to him, much less having him interact with JD Vance.
They probably gave that dude a shot of adrenalin so they could drag him in the car and ride around with him.
