For all we know Norin Radd could be in this one as well but as a surprise. Galactus can have more than 1 herald at a time and in the comics, both Norin Radd & Shalla Bal were his dual Silver Surfers

Sure and wolverine, Spiderman, hulk and ghost rider were the fantastic 4 in the comics too but we want the classics

The CGI looks like trash for all of them. Marvel struggles with making female characters come across as powerful on screen. The only one I was ever impressed with was Hela.

See what I'm saying, people can't be shocked that the audience would be thrown off by comparison. I would have been happy with that exact look plus a female face and body. It's night and day.
is it just me but the Silver Surfer character looks like shit
i am ok with them picking the female version and love everything I've seen so far but the Silver Surfer effect aint it. I think in a weird way the character looked better in the older version

It's fine to me. It's a make believe silver metal alien.
We need to see it all on a big screen to see how it really looks.
And unless it looks like some type of cartoon network level vfx wonky sh*t? It's fine.
Silver Surfer been female in comics NONE of these movies have been complete accurate reproduction of stories costumes or characters. Comics novels video games etc etc
If you want the old Jay buy his old albums.
This is a movie. This film takes place in different MCU reality. We had the surfer ALREADY. This is new and different. We had our version of silver surfer on screen (for good or bad) and in cartoons now THIS version gets a shot.
It cannot be just one way.

Bro.. it's a movie relax. If they did this in a comic book or cartoon you wouldn't blink because its SOP.
And Galactus has had NUMEROUS heralds. I been a silver surfer fan for decades got issue #1. When he was mentioned in Breathless I lost it. So you can't tell me nothing about classic marvel comic characters when I was selling and working in shops before high school. I know dudes who worked with Stan and Steranko.
It's a movie. It's a different reality. Could they have made it Nova? Yeah they could have. But this is a flip. We know OG surfer coming soon. Why would you want him now in a reality that may not exist soon? It's a movie. Go see it FIRST then get angry if you want.

It's not because it's a female It's because it's the silver surfer entering in the mcu and it's not the classic character
Cool they bring in Norrin Radd later but now the impact isn't the same.
I really hope the reason is they have a great idea for a story and not because they looked at the list of characters and said too many guys in the movie

But it’s clear this film is not made for Old School Comic Heads.
Its pretty obvious it was made to appeal to a general audience.
I understand SS has been depicted as female in the books, but the MCU should have stuck with keeping the character as a man with Norrin Radd.
It looks like they plan on introducing Franklin, his birth will most likely happen in the sequel.
The trailer lost me at the end with Galactus walking down Manhattan streets. Galactus does not walk. I doubt this film will display Galactus/Silver Surfer engaging the full Power Cosmic.
It looks entertaining, I’ll wait for it on Disney+, I don’t think this film will be a box office success and probably would do better going straight to streaming.

It's a smart move to make THIS reality distinct and different from the one fans already know especially if it's going to be potentially erased.
