Movie News: Ryan Coogler & Michael B. Jordan - SINNERS - jim crow era vampire flick (SPOILERS OPEN!!!)

It's never going to hit them the same way. Some folks have a hard time, even unconsciously, reading or watching stories where the heroes don't look like them. They can't put their finger on it, but something feels off. It's good but they don't know what the fuss is all about. That's why I always seek out Black critics regarding projects like this.

devils.

ruined Coogler perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.

Yeah, he sees things from a white male liberal perspective but he's a bright dude. We had a long chat after the Black Panther screening and he was catching a lot of the allegory right from jump.
You'll notice none of the white reviewers thought to see traces of Idlewild in this movie. Most of them don't know it. During one of the juke joint scenes, you'll catch it but then Ryan goes Super Saiyan with it. You can't have a deep dive review of this movie without spoilers. I know how Jeremy works, so I know he was probably just trying to avoid any spoilers up front. He might do a spoiler review but he probably won't, since its not a Marvel, DC or video game movie.

might be a new classic vampire movie
This is definitely a new classic vampire movie. Ryan Coogler is one hell of a storyteller.

I'm going to see it again shortly and then give a full spoiler review then, but man I loved it.

I love me some chocolate, so Wunmi Mosaku... Stacked.

and the legend Buddy Guy was showcased. Love that part. When I saw his name in the credits I was like what? For real?

I didn't understand the little hand on the rock at first, but the end of the movie cleared that up.

The second post credit scene at the very end of the movie It wasn't necessary, but I'm not mad I stayed for it. I told the people in the theater who said, "I stayed 10 minutes for this?"

Hey, I guess they're like, "we put all of this work into this movie, you're going to stay through the very end."

I'm going to have to DM you about him because I was a huge fan them cut him off but I came back.

Every year there's an actor that gives an award worthy performance in a horror movie and because it's a horror movie it doesn't get the recognition. Example Toni Collette in Hereditary.
I feel like Delroy Lindo's performance in Sinners is going to be one of those.

Jon Jon dropping jewels

That's why he gets in the juke joint for free

Going to say something that may be seen as controversial

He made up for BP2 with this one
Because I was not a fan of that and it had me questioning him.

I could go off about this but...

I UNDERSTAND your point and respect you having it

I mean...Your wrong.

But I can understand if Black Panther 2 is your least favorite of his 5 movies.

I'm going to see this in screen x and 4DX next week. I'm curious.

The 4DX sounds unnecessary to me but I might still do it.

I do want to be able to say I saw it in all formats.

BP1 is the movie I've seen the most in theaters plus the numerous times at home on disc.
Top tier mcu
Part 2 , once was enough

Okay like I said I respect it.

You have the right to your opinion and I respect yours more than most

I've already given detailed defense of wakanda forever.

I'm here to celebrate this one right here.

To me Coogler on one of the best hit streaks in Hollywood history

Tarantino level

Off the top of the head I think I could say it's a top 10 vampire movie.
In no particular order :

Interview with a Vampire
Lost Boys
Fright Night
Let the Right One In
After Dark
30 Days of Night
From Dusk till Dawn
Nosferatu
Maybe Salem's Lot or Blade
