Excellent points!!!GOOD POINTS!!! I appreciate the good dialogue!!
Ratings though for the NBA is overrated and miscalculated; however even if we use the old outdated model; ratings are driven by one major factor; a dominant team!! I posted several articles in the NBA thread where it proves; ratings are driven in the NBA win a team is dominant; people watch to see that; Ratings were up with Boston and LA in the 80s, Bulls in the 90s, Lakers in 00s, GS 2010s-2020s, Heat in between; Dominant teams push ratings; when there is parity or "competitive balance" thats when ratings drop in the NBA; nobody wants to see that shit lol
I see why you say you think the cap forces teams to develop players; but think about Tampa Rays; there is no cap in baseball so they cant compete with the Dodgers or Yankees or Mets or Phillies with spending; but yet they continue to churn out competitive teams year after year; why? because for them to compete they have to scout and develop; and they have to do it better than the big market teams; the Dodgers were horrible and mismanage 10-12 years ago! didnt become what they are until ownership change and wanted to win!! so now they are using their resources correctly; Why they get Ohtani or Saki?? they didnt outbid anyone; Ohtani got offered the same amount by Giants and Jays and a secret team; so why did he choose LA? why did Saki who could have sign anywhere because every team offered the same amount; thats called selling your team, infrastructure, tradition, how an organization treats players, facilities etc etc; those are the things that create a culture of winning, not just money!! Every player that the Dodgers sign say the same thing; this organization cares about its players, winning, investing in its players!!! see we can see first hand who cares about winning in Baseball; cant tell in the NFL because they recycle the same dumb people!!
Im not saying the players aint making money and getting treated like crap; but we also know most players arent paid what they are worth!! especially the top players; and thats in any professional sport; and with a cap, how can anyone get paid what they are worth?? how can we live in a "free market" country and support a salary cap?? thats backwards in it of itself!!
And heres another thing! with no cap now said player has to earn that big contract; not that player has a reason to go extra harder because he can get paid for play; as oppose to being locked into a set slotted salary
I will because it'll never be the same when the time comes. So, I try to cherish every moment with her as much as I can.Every year one is alive its a blessing for sure!! Enjoy every moment while she here!!
Sp the total max value of the contract is 10 years 204 million. Not sure anyone was going 300 million for him long termIm say this one more time; that Jackson Merril contract might be the worse contract in baseball; well the Albies contract is the worse; but Merril is right up there! His agent should be fired and killed at the same dam time![]()
@playahaitian @jawnswoop @DJ
Fam if he would have waited until he was a free agent! he would have been a free agent at 26 years old!! Dude would have gotten 450-500 mill easily at that age and at his skill set!! Easy and thats on the low end!! Toronto is rumored to offer Vlad like 550 right now; you think Merril as an all star right now, who is better than Vlad, plays a premium position, wouldnt get at least that at age 26? Bro, he left 300 mill on the table!!!Sp the total max value of the contract is 10 years 204 million. Not sure anyone was going 300 million for him long term

My grandmother's birthday is this weekend. She'll be 91.
So, my family and I will be celebrating her
Bro did you see what the contract is and how it works out ? His agent is an idiot, and Merrill an idiot for agreeing to that shit.
Espn and the net saying he going to be averaging 15 mil a year.
That kid is mad talented, and gonna be really good, the Padres seen him and his agent coming from last year. Can't even be mad they just fleeced the fuck out him to the tune of what Poles did to the panthers.

its a shame and ESPN should be destroying the Padres and his agent right now; to be honest, I cant believe the MLB players union let him sign that; that shit is ridiculous; 15 mill aint shit for a player of his caliber!! Im telling you bro, ive only seen maybe one contract thats worse and thats Albies
Scott Boras would have never went for that deal.CAA sports is what google said
NEVER!!!Scott Boras would have never went for that deal.

Yep and either Merril is stupid or he’s gullible or maybe both: but hey the universe doesn’t give us everything…For the price they got hom for every team in baseball should kicking themselves in the ass.
The players union only protects your rights as a LABORER, just like any other union.
Albies contract is only for like 3 years, he keep doing he does, he knows he gonna have a huge payday coming whether it's with Atlanta or not.
Common sense aint common.
We can blame it on the agents, the MLB, the unions, but at the end of the day, there is no contract without the players signature.
Scott Boras would have never went for that deal.

He was talking crazy about Juan Soto contract; so you probably right about him not being that smart; that contract is highway robbery and he should have took that as padres spitting in his faceAgents are there to maximize a player's value, at the end of the day the player signs the contract
I get the influence part, MJ dictated his contract with Nike, and told Charles Barlkley how to get piad and he MJ aint no agent by any means.
He had enough sense to know, you aint fucking me over.
I have to be honest, I dont think Merrill that smart.
Dont be surprised if he pull and Antiono Btown on thay 135 mil guaranteed, it's the only shit thay makes sense to me.
Yeah I didn't understand that part either. He was talking crazy about Juan Soto contract; so you probably right about him not being that smart; that contract is highway robbery and he should have took that as padres spitting in his face
Yeah I didn't understand that part either.

On another note, Elly almost for the cycle last night, hit 2 bombs instead of a triple.
Sadly, his talents are being wasted over there.
Phillies could scoop him up.They not going to able to keep him, and wherever he goes he gonna get paid.
Seattle or SD would be crazy not to chase him down.
Phillies could scoop him up.
