If I were the Lakers I wouldn't make another major trade, because on paper you would think that they need another big, but I think defensively Jackson Hayes is a lot better than people think, especially when you are playing team defense, even though the line up may appear small, the Lakers have a very big group of players, especially with Luka at PG, Hachimura, LeBron and Vanderbilt playing the wings. But where they should be much better is that the ball moves a lot fluidly without A.D. on the court, because the main flaw with Davis is that he needed to be fed in the paint, and teams would often cheat in the box and collapse on him forcing him to take difficult shots with three or sometimes four defenders around him. To Davis's credit, he often would make these difficult shots, but when he did miss, the other team usually were in the perfect position to get the rebound. Now without Davis teams are forced to guard the ball, leaving more lanes in the paint, giving the Lakers better opportunity to drive to the rim, and grab offensive rebounds. If they decide to sag in the paint to stop these drives, then they risk leaving the open shooters for the three-point shot.
We saw this play out last night vs the Clippers and the other day vs the Knicks, and it should only get better with Luka on the court adding to the mix.

The Lakers scout team sucks. They could of had Jalen Wells at that pick, hell he went in the 2nd rd. They could have traded up to pick McCain, who would have been the rookie of the year.
Two give up that many No 1.s for a center is insane.
