I believe this in his early years they let him get away with too much bullshit now the bullshit came back on him. Yes, he’s a decent player, but he cannot play defense as you see what the finals from last year that did become a huge problem. Especially if you plan a younger athletic team. Larry Bird even played better defense than him. The media and the NBA was trying to prop them up because he’s a European white boy but he has a lot of negatives.

He’s only a One Way player. He cannot play no like a defense that got him in trouble last year’s doing the finals. She’s a good offensive player, but that defense could be a problem, especially against athletic teams.
You're right but he's a young generational talent . They could've found other defensive minded players to put around him to take up the slack. Hell Harden plays defense just as bad and the Clippers aren't trying to off load him. Even with his bad defense and conditioning, they made It pass 28 other teams to get to the finals. that says a whole lot.
He plays like he’s in his mid 30s. He is extremely slow footed.
That bad defense cannot get you past the top two teams. And I am not paying you max contract if you’re not taking care of your body because I know what’s going to happen when he gets near 30 years old.

They got past Minnesota and made It to finals . they could've look at a good defensive player and ran It back. Hell IMO Dallas got fleeced. (street clothes) AD is 31 If Dallas don't win a chip In two years they're done.
The sum of their current centers is less than AD That's they rationale. That and the fact they clearly feel they wouldn't win it all with them.
C'mon man. I can't defend his lack of defense. Dude just doesn't have the lateral movement or athleticism. Getting in shape and having better conditioning would prob do wonders for him on that side of the ball. He'll never compete for DPOY, but it could be better. But offensively the dude is surgical the way he can manipulate and control a game. Saying he being propped up is a bit of a stretch. And he's had his fair share of wins against athletic teams. See OKC and Minny last year.
I always watch and listen to what other ballers say. You won't find many, if any that don't respect his game. At least on the offensive side of it.
