Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is cooking up a rebuttal to reports about his chronic lateness.
Back in April, a report in The Wrap alleged that Johnson was chronically late on the set of Christmas film Red One, often by seven or eight hours. It also claimed that he missed several days of production entirely, leading to a major increase in the cost of the film.

However, Johnson denies these reports, calling the controversy "bulls---" in a new cover story with GQ. Johnson admits that he can be late, but he takes issue with the length of time in the story, as well as the suggestion that he misses filming days. (However, he did cop to reports that he pees in water bottles while filming to save time — "Yeah, that happens.")
“Yeah, that happens too,” Johnson said of his lateness. “But not that amount, by the way. That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous."

Red One director on how the action-comedy is a Christmas film, but 'a little more kick-ass' and 'epic'
Both Red One director Jake Kasdan and costar Chris Evans also defended Johnson in the GQ story. “[Johnson has] never missed a day of work ever," Kasdan said. "He has a lot going on. He can be late sometimes, but such is Hollywood — that’s the case with everybody. Honestly, I’ve made three big movies with him. I’ve never seen him be anything but great to every single person on the set."
Evans echoed Kasdan's remarks, also noting that Johnson's morning workouts — which The Wrap alleged were often the cause of his lateness — were accounted for in the production schedule. "This is something that the producers, the director, and it’s all his team, so they all know this," he said. "So it’s all basic. It’s not like he’s late unexpectedly, and I wouldn’t even call it late. He comes in slightly later on certain mornings, but it’s part of the plan. It’s worked into the schedules and everyone knows it, so he shows up when he’s scheduled to show up."

Johnson did admit to occasional lateness and his propensity for peeing in bottles, but he also encouraged anyone with questions about his behavior to come to him directly. "I’ve said a thousand times: 'Hey, I’m here. Come and ask me. And I’ll tell you the truth,'" he noted. Indeed, Johnson has talked lately about his directness and authenticity and the role that it has played in his success.
Red One, which stars Johnson as Santa Claus's bodyguard, hits theaters on Nov. 15.

Dwayne Johnson was headlining one family movie after another following the launch of his acting career with 2002’s “The Scorpion King.” He was successful, but he yearned for more. A lot more. Johnson told his agents that he wanted to be bigger than Will Smith. When they expressed skepticism, he got rid of them.
As reported in Johnson’s new GQ cover story: “He surveyed the landscape, noted who was at the top of it. And he went to his agents and said, despite whatever recent setbacks he’d experienced, he had an idea, or simply an ambition: He wanted to have the career of George Clooney or Will Smith. But bigger, perhaps, or better. When his agents seemed skeptical of this plan, he found new agents.”

“That was the idea back then,” Johnson now told GQ looking back at his plan, admitting that he did think “I could be bigger” than Clooney and Smith. “And I mean that respectfully. But also maybe do things differently, because there’s no blueprint, I feel like, for a guy like me, who looks like me. But I feel now looking back on the career…. Bigger than Will, bigger than George? I think the declaration is just: different.”

“So the date is Christmas, X year,” Johnson said. “Year and a half, two years before that: ‘There’s our date.’ Now here comes the film. Now we work backwards from there. And I found myself doing that for years, actually. And it worked and it served me back then because it helped build my career.”
“I had this conceit and I idealized what my career should be,” he added. “[The conceit was]: Audience first. Let’s take care of the audience first. So I get a piece of material, I’d look at it and think, ‘Okay, does this have four-quadrant capability and opportunity? Are audiences going to like seeing me in this role?'”
Johnson’s mindset let him to a big and broad Hollywood career with huge hits like “Moana,” the “Fast & Furious” franchise, “Jumanji” and more. His latest movie, the Christmas action comedy “Red One,” debuts in theaters Nov. 15 from Amazon MGM Studios.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is speaking out about Hulk Hogan’s racist rant.
At HBO’s Television Critics Association’s press tour in Beverly Hills on Thursday, Johnson was touting his dramedy series Ballers, which was recently renewed for a second season. A critic asked about Hogan, who was dumped by the WWE earlier this week after a recording surfaced of the wrestling legend using racist language.
“I was pretty disappointed at what I heard,” said Johnson, who comes from a family of professional wrestlers. “I’ve known [Hulk Hogan] for a lot of years. My dad helped train him in Florida in the ’70s when he was breaking into the business. My uncles helped train him as well. So I’d not known him to be racist.”
Johnson then smiled. “It’s funny, it’s one of those things where—I’m not justifying what he said—but we’ve all talked trash. Especially in private. He said what he said and now he’s paying the price.”

That whole "Cody's Soul" angle he was pushing was illogical and weird as hell.
Especially the creepy way he kept rubbing Cody's cheek during segments. Had me worried they were about to do some type of Fleece Johnson angle now that they're on Netflix

I don't think that, he was just EVERYWHERE at one time.
It seemed like he was dropping movies or series or Netflix joints ever 6 to 8 months at one time... and most of them sucked... but because he was THE action star at one time and there was a revival of the muscle bound actor in talk less shoot more action movies you just got tired of seeing this half a nigga.
