Having survived the FTP attacks and other bullshit that’d take the board offline or derail the peace from back in the day, I’m immune to a lot of the MAGA and fruity shit and
posters that’s on here now, I just block and move on. If it ain’t on the main forum, I don’t read it, haven’t for years, but that’s mainly because I get info on shit that meets this phase of my life from other sources. 20 years ago I spent 2-4 hours a day on BGOL, now it’s more like 15 minutes a day. Nothing personal, this is still home but life and free time have changed.
Side note: this forum saved my life when I was in a dark place 7 years ago and I will always be grateful for that. Got some honest spit that was real, and wasnt sugarcoated either. The brotherhood (and sisterhood) on existing, surviving and thriving as black people in the family, corporate, etc world is the true value in this place, to me.
So, as far as topics, a lot of stuff for this phase of my, and many other OGs, might be welcomed, like:

-Investing Advice
-Home Improvement
-Auto Repair

The thread was started on July 21, that is 120 days, 6000 people viewing the thread 50 times could give you those numbers.

This is what undermined the Arsenio Hall show back in the day. The other networks would not book you if you appeared on the Arsenio Hall show when Jay Leno replaced Johnny Carson. Johnny Carson also used this tactic with white performers. When he first started out he used 'underground' black performers that wasn't being booked anywhere else. This is the only board or internet subscription I have ever paid for. But having been on here since before 9/11, I feel like I’m qualified to say I’m loyal.
