Make a Contribution to Remove NSFW Ads

Fellas we need to break the Main BGOL forum into separate forums

Fellas here is the question I need answered and later in this post I will tell you why.

I have to break the Main BGOL forum down into 4-5 (non adult XXX rated) forums.

For example:
Sports may be just one big forum for all sports, or broken down into sub-forums NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB Boxing etc
Entertainment - will it be just movies or all entertainment and Celebrity news.
Geo Politics - Politics outside the United States ie Africa, Middle East, China etc
Politics - We already have a Politics forum, they are mostly U.S. based, but cover everything.

The X-Rated NSFW Forum - All XXX threads will be moved to their own forum, nothing will change except that forum will only be XXX only.
The NSFW forum will not be indexed by google and will be for Legacy members only (meaning all old heads)
All threads when posted will be moved to their correct forum by the moderators.
Once we decide what our Main forums are, we will move all existing threads to their proper forum

You guys are the main posters what new forums do you recommend?

The Grown Folks Board and The Neighbor Hood forum will probably be discontinued.
Probably all of the dead spam filled forum will go away, or be pruned and be Read-Only

I'm doing this because the donation model is no longer working.
Most members do not donate, but I give them access to keep the board going.
I'm ready to try something new.

Guy we need a Music Gear & Software Discussion forum
I don't know what to call the forum, but it will include.

Discussions sub forums for all the Popular DAWs, along with their plugins
FL Studio, Cubase, Studio One, Reason, Pro Tools, Reaper, Garage Band, Cake Walk, Logic Pro & More

Sub Forum for instruments Like Guitars, Keyboards/Synths along with associated gear such as pedals, amps, software etc

Music Production discussions which is a broad topic that can include putting beats together, mixing, mastering etc,

We already have the Producers Music Lounge but it can't be out in the open becasue of copyright issues.
It will still be there if someone wants to share something with another member.

What do you think?

If your gonna do the Entertainment section you need a music section as a sub category

Are you doing away with donations being you are giving non paying members full access?

Or are you continuing donations and restricting new members to certain areas until they donate?

I want music to be it's own forum.
I'm not a good musician, but I play at guitar, keyboard and I'm learning cubase etc.
So we need a forum for people who make music, beats etc.

All this is right up my ally with me wanting to become a guitarist, bassist, saxophonist, pianist and harmonica player as well as songwriter, composer and producer. :yes:

I only visit the main forum. It’s like a one stop discussion shop for me. I don’t partake in the music and Hollywood forums like I use too.

I use probably 5% of the total forum and that still may be too generous of a number. So, for me, anything moved out the main forum may not get seen.

However, I understand needing to make change, so anything you must do, I will adjust as necessary.

This is fine with me, but the last time we did this, those other forums died. This is why all the threads ended up being on the same board for visibility. I think we should have one politics forum. I believe we can also have one sports board as well. From what I see, the board is not active enough to where we have sports threads overrunning the man board. We really only have one thread where we discuss NFL and one thread where we discuss NBA and it's usually the same people in all of them.

First of all I'm willing to give you a refund, that has always been my policy, no hard feelings on my end.

I only give members free access to keep the board alive, if a member doesn't pay he has restricted access for 2 months.
After 2 months I give them full access for 6 months. Some people pay during that 2 month limited access, most don't.
Most days are $20 days or nothing at all. You can't exist on that type of money.

If I can set this board up to get Ad Revenue, that will eliminate a lot of stress on my end.
I can then begin to try and grow the board with new members.

I'll still need donation support for about another year, but I'll make it work regardless.

My goal is to go from a board that is losing members to a board that is gaining new members.

I'm tired of begging for money. Everyone wanted to keep the board as is with nudity all over the place.
Knowing I can't monetize the board with that type of setup, as long as they help me fund the board I was cool with it.

The funds have dried up.
 
I've seen other forums that have their stuff in sub groups to make it easier to find what you want or post in that specific group because when you have everything in one place, people will keep bumping threads and other threads continue to be pushed further back since no one saw it that comes to this forum later.

I agree, but if he makes the sub groups to keep things in place then allow us to click on those specific groups to post in so that we don't have to post stuff in the wrong ones.

Hey I'm all for paying up and more. The content, the users and information I get here is worth in gold.

Question, when will this move happen?

We have to have good moderators who will move threads to their proper forum.
Keep the forums that are open to the public down to 3-4 forums, stacked on top of each other.
So it almost feels like the main BGOL forum.
Have the NSFW where it is easy to find and I think it will work.

Also remove the junk forums so everything is nice and neat.

The Music forum and the Movie forum will still be there, they stay kind of busy.

I'm all for it.

Get as much ad revenue as you can!

I'm not here for the porn at all. I mean, I'll check out the booties if put in my face, but if the porn gets buried so you can get more ad revenue, I think that's a good idea.

I rarely go to those other forums. If I do, it's the TV sub when the other message boards sites are down.
 
I like your idea. A lot, in regards to the music gear and discussion forum. Thanks for considering us.

My question is would it be well-attended?

Sometimes it seems like when things get separate forums, there's not as many people hitting them. For example, The Politics and Topics of the Day forum. We talk about those things A LOT here on the main board, but no one hardly ever posts on the dedicated forum.
