I thought about that. But everybody uses.com. It's the one everybody knows, because that will be the part they'll forget.

Whenever I hear a website I stop listening when they finish saying the name, I just assume .com

I was on the home PC using the now defunct (?) Sprint Canada dial-up that took 45 minutes to boot up in search of some quality T&A.


I still laugh at my brother saying to me one day - "We need to delete the Search History on a regular basis ..." - I had no idea what he meant (in 1998). He explained to me all our browsing history was easily able to be called up by mom. I froze in panic.

The yearly NBA threads are a great example of how the board has changed .... and not for the better.

An NBA thread from 10-15 years ago was mostly popping during the games, with a lot of back & forth shit talking in real time.

Anyone of those threads from the past 5 seasons, is full of social media post, twitter redirects, random stats comparison, the daily Kobe/Jordan/Lebron guy nonsensical post, and maybe buried in the rubble there is a post or two from someone who was up actually watching a game.

That and the wrestling threads were the only reason I was hanging on for awhile, but both are a lot less fun on a day to day basis these days :dunno:

My Plex server is full of movies, music, and TV shows due to Fonz, Pdice, and BigSarge (R.I.P.)

Quek9 helped build up our retro gaming community which is probably the most sane on the internet, which is crazy considering our insane BGOL can be at times. (I hope he's ok)

These state porn bans are killing me, a nigga gotta float out to the middle of the Gulf of Mexican to see a woman's bare breasts. (but secretly I'm glad something is forcing me to pump the damn breaks)
 
True story, the leader of my fantasy football league had a heart attack the same day our keeper players was due. We had to scramble up together information to keep the league going in his son took over for his team.

My proposal going forward was for us to have a vice president and someone else that had the keys to keep things going just in case I propose the same in this scenario.

The wrestling thread is all about skinny Japanese gymnasts & WWE/AEW fans desperately trying to recreate the Monday night wars levels of beef.

The NFL threads have long ago succumb to Draft King's sports betting bullshit. And the NBA threads is old heads yelling at the kids to stay off their lawn.

I posted about this in the politics section and it blew up, some of the tactic that are used to undermine black social media. They use black influencers to steer the herd into their garbage social media that they control.

Another tactic is Porn Hub and X-video that is ad supported porn. This website was driven off of DVD porn sales which led people to the forums. Nobody is buying DVD porn or if they do, they are going to use Bittorrent.

A website that I used to visit just abruptly shut down after 30 years. All the tech review sites are on YouTube now. They wanted to get out of the way of the next generation and allow them to do their thing. This might be the fate of BGOL.

BGOL is a relationship and bond that we all share. You said you've gotten all the value that you can out of it.

To most those words mean that it's time to move on.

I'm not sure why that's so hard to understand.
