Rap producer Metro Boomin was accused of rape in a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles, with the complaint alleging that lyrics in a song he produced recount the incident.

Vanessa LeMaistre, 38, is seeking a jury trial and damages over what she says occurred at a recording studio in California in or around September 2016.

An attorney for Metro Boomin, whose real name is Leland Wayne, 31, called the lawsuit a “pure shakedown” consisting of false accusations and said Wayne would defend himself in court. “He will file a claim for malicious prosecution once he prevails,” Lawrence Hinkle II said in a statement.
LeMaistre says that she arrived at the studio and was given an alcoholic drink, according to court documents. The visit was not unusual after several months of what she believed was a friendship with the artist, the filing says.

She also consumed half a Xanax, an anxiety medication she had been taking since her 9-month-old son died that year of a rare disease, the lawsuit says.
While sitting on a couch listening to Wayne make music, she lost consciousness, the filing says. She awoke in a different location while Wayne was raping her, she alleges. He later told her it was a hotel in Beverly Hills, the lawsuit says.
The filing describes LeMaistre drifting in and out of consciousness, unable to move, while Wayne performed sex acts on her. Wayne put her in a car waiting outside afterward and she was driven back to her vehicle at the studio, she alleges.

Several weeks later, she learned she was pregnant and underwent an abortion, the lawsuit says, adding that she had not had sex during this time and the pregnancy could only have been a result of the alleged rape.

According to the filing, LeMaistre was shocked to later hear the lyrics in the 2017 song “Rap Saved Me,” by 21 Savage, Offset, Metro Boomin and Quavo, which include: “She took a Xanny, then she fainted. I’m from the gutter, ain’t no changing. From the gutter, rap saved me. She drive me crazy, have my baby.”
She believes the lyrics — which Wayne does not perform but which are contained in a song produced by him — recount what Wayne did to her, the filing says.
“The lyrics were horrifying for Ms. LeMaistre to hear over and over again,” the lawsuit says, adding that Wayne was someone she “truly believed to be her friend but turned out to be her worst nightmare.”

In an emailed statement, LeMaistre’s attorneys Michael J. Willemin and Monica Hincken said Wayne had a history of offensive lyrics and social media posts that are indicative of “his intentions to harm women,” and called for him to be held accountable.

Wayne was described in February as “rap’s most in-demand producer” by the Grammy Awards after he was nominated for Producer of the Year (which went to pop producer Jack Antonoff).

After making a name for himself in the Atlanta scene, he shot to stardom through collaborations with names such as Future, the Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar and Migos, as well as solo albums and the soundtrack to 2023’s “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.”

If you were raped wouldn't you go straight to the police and then go to the hospital to get a rape kit done?
Person should got straight to the hospital and then police, because them cops gonna be taking too much time. The police can take reports at the hospital.

Man, she just want that cheddar....
That's not always the case. A good lawyer will tell you that unless you have irrefutable evidence that your best bet is a civil suit because they're easier to prosecute. Doesn't mean she doesn't deserve justice if she's telling the truth and a civil suit don't always mean she's lying.

Man, I hear you, but it's about justice; I had a niece that was sexually assaulted when she about 13 years old by a pedophile in his thirties and we wanted justice in a criminal court. In sum, the pedo went to prison for a few years, but should have gotten more. Money would have never satisfied my family.

Justice would've been killing that rapist because they aren't gonna serve a lot of time depending on the sate they're in and the laws in those different states. That rapist will be back on the street and would do it again.

Yeah, that sounds good "killing the rapist," but this isn't a movie, bruh.

I know it isn't a movie, I'm just saying how justice should be served. Because prison doesn't do shit for a rapist when they could do it again.
I'm not a death penalty advocate, because the meting out of the sentence for either murder or rape is usually racially biased on the whole.

I completely feel you on that. But unfortunately a lot of times it's a "something is better than nothing" scenario. Don't get me wrong..mfs be lying they ass off for a payday sometimes. I'm just pointing out that shit is so fucked up that sometimes it's just the best way to move the needle.

Yeah, bro, I completely understand what you're saying; however what if your rapist is broke?

Stop being logical, she wants money ipso facto she must be lying!

Well, you're for the death penalty and I'm against it, like I said there is a lot of racist bias to it, bro.
I did said If they're proven to be found guilty then they should get it. I do agree that a lot of people who have gotten the death penalty we're innocent.

It doesn't help that METOO exist.

I guess you don't understand what I'm saying, there are disparities within the system. Even if a person is proven to be guilty of murder, the death penalty is not applied in a similar fashion when it come to race. White people get the death penalty far less than Black people. The system is unfair.

I do belive the death penalty should be equal regardless of color when a person that did the same crime but understand that it isn't the case.

But it doesn't help putting that person back on the the streets as a repeat offender because we've all seen and heard how they went out the worst way and the victim lost their life because of it.

I don't think it's gonna ever change with the disparities when it comes to the death penalty but I won't be against it for those who deserve it.

My point is that those "who deserve it" is being meted out in an unfair and unequal way. When you say "those who deserve it" then there are a lot of white people who "deserve it" but are not getting the death penalty.

You seem to misunderstand what I meant and thinking I'm singling out CACs when that isn't true, I'm talking about them CACs as well.

Maybe you seem to think I was just talking about our people which isn't the case and I've told you and agreed with you that black folks have been executed unfairly.
