Here is how it works, like said above, if she gets mad she will go to court on your ass, ain't got shit to do with you taking care of your child.....she will still go to court because she might think she will get more.
AND GUESS THE FUCK WHAT, in some instances the court will find that whatever you paid unofficially was a GIFT and now you owe back support. My advice to young brothers is to put yourself on child support and make sure you pay through the child support agency and DO NOT give it to her directly. If you want to do extra like pay for baseball and football and buy clothes and shoes and shit....ain't nothing stopping you, but that child support number needs to be paid through the registry.

The white man is refer to as the judge. He see yall black ass in his court room. Everyday all day, same story different actors. I would never advise any man go put themselves on child support. Here’s why baby is born June 1 2024. You place yourself on cs and is immediately paying cs.
Now let’s use that same birthday. Three years later baby mother files child support on February 1 2027
You go to court three months later May 1, 2027 You receive your new monthly cs payment, and she gets back pay on the “Date she filed child support” Which in this case the judge can only go back to February 1, 2027. You just bought yourself three years of no child support, because like you said earlier.
Everything before that is considered a gift. But I would advise the man to file for custody. The minimum overnight you need is 128 overnights with the minor. And your cs will be little to nothing a month.

For the non custodial parent its alwaysssss in their best interest to pay through the system. That way you can get legal credit!!!! These guys don't understand a father could pay out of pocket to the mom and right before the child turns 18 she can file and get back payments. The courts don't give a fuck!!!
The payments are about the same depending on the father’s gross income. I wound up with custody and when she had custody I paid 800 a month and other incidental shit. When she went to court the first time I just came in with a binder with document protected paperwork. LES’s showing the payment deduction against my income (calculated by the Army) and the receipts for all the additional shit I covered. The judge laughed her out of court. I got custody a couple years later based on her fucking with the school board.
She is a college grad now working and living in the same city as her mother. She sees the BS first hand now because mom refuses to deal with a grown child like an adult so we are finally having those discussions.

I know a dude who was paying 1,800 a month for his son and his his ex wife gave him fucking hell. He finally was able to win full custody after like 2-3 fighting in court. Dude had to sell everything to get his on. Sold his cows, his truck, and his tractor to pay them lawyer fees.
Child support be the least of the issues. It be the drama that come with it. 1800 a month ain’t shit if it’s going to your child. It’s the other bullshit smh….but I pay it for happiness.
