AEW is not putting any dent into WWE's business so there would be no point in buying them out, plus TK would be too stubborn/proud to ever sell AEW to WWE.
BTW, Smackdown tonight is in Jacksonville (AEW country) and it would be funny if Triple H did an updated invasion angle of AEW HQs like he did with DX on WCW back in the day. LOL

I know what they're trying to do, but they're doing a terrible job at the execution.
Big difference between Swerve and Cody right now is that AEW's bad booking cooled Swerve off right before he won the championship as opposed to Cody who was the clear fan favorite (so much so that WWE changed the WM main even on the fly) before he won the championship.
Seems that WWEs strategy with AEW is to just pretend they don't exist, mostly because I'm the grand scheme of things they don't, WWE is a worldwide brand with generations of success, AEW has yet to turn a profit.
WWE has superstars that are recognized across the globe, AEW has Indy mid show rejects and the WWE leftovers. WWE would only be doing AEW a favor by doing any kind of angle that would involve them, they do NXT numbers lmao

Yep. AEW is an indie promotion with a TV deal.

Man if ya'll hate it so much stop fucking watching it. This shit has become the AEW Hit Squad thread. WWE everything right AEW everything wrong. Stop watching it if you hate it so gottdamn much. I watch both shows and neither is perfect, but the bias shown here for a company that's been around for decades and one that's still in its infancy is nuts. Enjoy wrestling.

Man stop. AEW is getting Ock'ed BGOL style.. This is BGOL where we celebrate Ocks, especially the Ocks that are self inflicted....

Facts!!...

And in other news, AEW Dynamite ratings continue to drop :smh:
Yes, NBA playoffs, hockey, the all-night gas station that just opened up down the street, yadda yadda yadda....
Did the NBA playoffs and hockey not exist until this year?
How come the ratings weren't this low in the past years against the same competition?

I'm not too concerned about it as I said last month the ratings are going to be down across the boatd around this time of year. Raw, SmackDown, NXT, Dynamite are ALL down. I think Raw did 1.5 million this past Monday. They were doing 2 million two months ago. Once the playoffs are over the ratings will trend back up.

I respect an Ock but this shit is borderline abuse
It really is no different than how we (on the board) clowned DC/WB for years of incompetence with the way they handled their comic book movies versus the way Marvel/Disney handled the MCU.

I love wrestling the way I love and watch comic book films. Even the bad ones, though some properties I didn't watch (Birds of Prey movie, the Ant-Man films).

I grew up loving the DC comic book universe, but am always open to clown them for the way they handled their cinematic universe.

We clown WWE occasionally but I will absolutely clown AEW more because they have given us more ammunition to do so.

AEW doesn't always have the best storylines but their matches are great. A botch here and there but that happens in all companies. But for a company this young they're doing a good job. Just remember how shitty things were with just WWE out there.

AEW's best storylines are the ones that happen behind the scenes being played out on social media by former talent, their own current talent and their owner lolz.

Yeah, when WWE was the only game in town things were bad, however AEW came out the gate aiming for WWE. If you cannot find how funny it is that they have fallen on their face mores times than not, I dunno.

For the record, I don't want to see AEW cease to exist, I'm just enjoying the clown age they get because of poor management and stories.

It would be interesting to see their financials, but i wonder at what point Triple H gets tired of this little bug and decides to buy them out..

Grab the top 10 ROH stars (not under long term deals) and top 10 AEW stars (not under long term deals) and collect the AEW/ROH trademarks, video collection for $2 million or less

I watched this week Dynamite this morning!!...It was a nice action packed show this week!!...They are setting and hyping things up for the upcoming ppv this month!!..The opening match with Danielson and Moxley vs Kyle Fletcher and Jeff Cobb was good!!..This Adam Copeland and The House of Black feud is about to get interesting!!...The segment with Ospreay and Roderick Strong was cool..I like that match with Swerve vs Brian Cage!!..They put on a good match and the segment with Christian Cage after was cool..I'm looking forward to seeing that match at the ppv!!.. ..The Willow and Mercdes segment was eh!!..Man I hope that TK don't put that belt Mercedes Mone!!..:smh:..Her whole vibe at AEW is lame!!...The last match with Okada vs Dax Hardwood was cool!!...Damn good to see Darby Alin is back and going to fight at the PPV!!.....

Overall, it was another good action packed show!!...

- The Willow/Mercedes segment came off well. If Mercedes is taking table bumps, I guess she's cleared to go. She'll turn full heel and beat Willow with help from either Kamille or Megan Bayne as her enforcer.

- Loving the Elite. This is the best work Jack Perry has done in his whole career. Okada has been fantastic, and The Bucks are doing their thing. They do need to ramp up things even more.

- Swerve/Cage match was good and the Swerve/Christian storyline is starting to cook.

- Toni Storm continues to do excellent character work.

- Looks like they're teasing a Takeshita/Moxley IWGP Title match for "Double Or Nothing".

- "Deathwish" Darby returning was wild.

- House Of Black/ Adam Copeland storyline heating up. Need more of that type of violence out of HOB.

- Jericho brings the show down.

- Hook will always look like a dork.

- No Mina tonight but I was asking for too much.

It was good show this week!!...I hate my man Eddie Kingston got hurt but good to see Darby Alin came back and going to take his spot at the ppv!!

Damn Darby tough as shit!!...

Based on what? And what's the story and payoff?

In Japan they still take Kayfabe serious to a degree so often times they'll do interviews with Japanese media staying in character. Takeshita is a heel right now so his thoughts are reflective of that. Don Callis works closely with Takeshita so who knows what they have planned.

Damn, Nia Jax and Jade just had an entertaining brawl. Jade got busted/cut on the side of her face and they brawled it out. I like this, as it’s going to build to a nice feud. Nia Jax has been putting in good work, and looks to have lost some weight.
It'll be interesting to Jax go up against someone she can't just "bulldoze" over.

Japan taking things serious....

I'm not sure what this has to do with anything I said. Traditionally Japanese wrestlers stay in character when doing interviews with media in Japan. It's a degree of kayfabe they maintain and take serious. Somehow you correlated that with meaning they take EVERYTHING serious and that's not what I said.

In regard to the clip you posted DDT is a Japanese promotion that does comedy style matches amongst other things. In their case it's a direction that they took to different themselves from other promotions. Some love it, some hate it.

Just fuckin with ya man, you guys will get use to my asshole nature soon enough lol

He's working in AEW, so this interview, if it was in character is pointless. Its not furthering a storyline. If it's not, then again I say, its a bad look. Side note, you're not the only one who understands and watches Japanese wrestling, so over explaining isn't necessary. Respectfully

I think it's too early to know one way or another. I'm in wait and see mode regarding this.

I tend to over explain for the benefit of those in the thread who don't watch, understand or have context to the nuances of Japanese wrestling. Although we're having a singular conversation other people read what we write so I appeal to the plural as well as the singular.
