You're movin' just like a degenerate, every antic is feelin' distasteful
I calculate you're not as calculated, I can even predict your angle
Fabricatin' stories on the family front 'cause you heard Mr. Morale
A pathetic master manipulator, I can smell the tales on you now
Spirit guide whispered in my ear, tell me that she sees me
"Did he touch you?" I said "No" again, still they didn't believe me
Mother's brother said he got revenge for my mother's face
Black and blue, the image of my queen that I can't erase
'Til this day can't look her in the eyes, pain is taking over
Blame myself, you never felt guilt 'til you felt it sober
They fell off because they were the opp of Fif, Em and Dre. And they were the hottest shit in the game at the time. And they were opposite of third love ballads Ja and Inc were making. Everyone has its time. Fif had his. You don’t stay on top forever.Nah this is revisionist history.
Ja still went platinum and then gold in the middle of all of that.
Ja and Murder Inc. fell off because people were tiring of the fake tough, wanna be Pac/Suge/Death Row shit they got on. The nigga Ja literally got on the radio and referred to himself as the 2nd coming of Pac.
50 was in the perfect place with the perfect team and back story of beefing with and being shot by their associates to take advantage.
There was nothing saving Drake from this assault. Pusha did the same shit. Push and Dot handled Drake with calculation. He was getting them records whether he mentioned their wives or not. It was invitable. I suspect Drakes missteps came something outside of this rap shit. It seems like no one rocks with him or if they do at a distance. The more I think about this battle the more I realize how many missteps Drake took. I think homie is a brilliant hitmaker but I doubt he has many real friends in his circle. Or perhaps he does and they're just dumb.
One glaring misstep was hopping right out and saying Kendrick's wife's name. Kendrick tried to give him grace with EUPHORIA after PUSH UPS. Particularly in the Teddy P portion of the song.
He let him know I know what you're gonna say, and I know where you got that info. If you've listened to MR. MORALE, Drake hasn't said anything that Kendrick didn't already confess. Sadly, Drake didn't hear the confessions properly. With the exception of the Dave Free stuff, everything he said about Kendrick was on MOTHER I SOBER. He misinterpreted the line about Kendrick being molested and why that was even in the song in the first place. He also may have misinterpreted the line about abuse:
This reads like it was his mother who was beaten, not Whitney. That verse wasn't even about his wife. But I suppose the connection can be that trauma repeats itself (since that was the theme of the song). So perhaps there's room for interpretation, but that's not what was said. Maybe Drake has proof otherwise?
Kendrick used MOTHER I SOBER to free himself, his family, ancestors, and kids of trauma, guilt, and grief. Drake misinterpreting that shows he's really NOT LIKE US.
Question:
When it's all said and done, will Not Like Us have the same legacy as Hit 'Em Up??
It's a bit soon to ask I know, but a year or 2 from now, what do you think?
@largebillsonlyplease you definitely need to weigh in here
@TheFuser @playahaitian @REDLINE you guys too
I did read somewhere that there was a big shot caller from Hell's Angels that lived in Drake's neighborhood...
And now people are starting to poke holes in Chris Alvarez's story, saying the timeline of events doesn't line up. Some chic named Tisa Tells is in full on tinfoil hat mode... and that ebony prince dude is telling her she's on the right path.
I'm so sick of this cryptic tweeting... like my papa used to say, shit or get off the pot.

I think the battle was gonna happen regardless. But Kendrick warned him to keep it cute. He said this could be a "friendly fade." Both EUPHORIA and 6:16 IN LA were actually trying to show Drake some grace (or as much grace as one can show in a battle).
"Don't tell no lies 'bout me.
I won't tell no truths 'bout you."

21 Savage and Metro Boomin cool???
While I think you’re right….it’s like telling MJ don’t shoot that jump shot lol. Shooters shoot.I think the battle was gonna happen regardless. But Kendrick warned him to keep it cute. I’m of the belief we was always getting them. These records sounded like built up frustration over the years. Drake had no where to go. It’s one thing when Pusha kills him….hip hop audience will take notice. When it’s Dot? The world takes notice and you become a meme.
Yeah. Or at least it seems that way. He hopped in the online spat between Soulja and Metro on Metro's side.
@playahaitian
Still to this day one of my fave 90s tracks from Toronto. From around ‘95 - Sauk’ is a teenager here ... talented ...

Damn right
Same...."The underground Tapes" was a classic album
I was just bumpin this old Mathematiks track yesterday
Drakes only real industry friend was Noah Shebib and he shit on him Too. All the niggas he surrounds himself with don’t like him and use him to be around fame and money. This guy grew up with zero Black people. All his childhood friends are cac Jews. He starts rapping and all of a sudden he’s hanging out with P Reign and a bunch of criminals from Toronto . He’s a foolThe more I think about this battle the more I realize how many missteps Drake took. I think homie is a brilliant hitmaker but I doubt he has many real friends in his circle. My pops lives in San Diego and rode his bike cross country from there to Houston some years back... he got into it with a H.A. member while out at dinner in El Paso,TX... he thought it was over and done with but when he left he noticed there were 2 or 3 more there and all looking in his direction... he managed to slip away from them somehow and get to his hotel room.My cousin made the mistake of getting into it with some Hell’s Angels way back in the day while drinking at the bar with a friend.
Not sure what the fuck he was thinking but it was around ‘99 - ‘02 so he was in his early-20s.
They roughed him up a bit and told his larger friend basically - “get him out of here now, or we’ll kill him”
Message heard loud and clear. Damn.
Pac was also black and Aubrey is well….@REDLINE @Tdot_firestarta
I never considered the Pac Drake comparison till just now
Drake never truly felt loved accepted and embraced by his people like Pac.
Pac was able to accepted as a conflicted individual. Love women but still call them bitch and hoes. Thug intellectual revolutionary gang banger poet bully.
I dint think ANYONE ELSE can ever be ALLOWED to exist in all those spaces anymore.
And I think Drake foolishly thought he could kinda be the Rock of rap.
Without ever paying that black tax for REAL.
Pac was also black and Aubrey is well….
If that's the case then Drake is done... he'll have a few more hits but the nigga is a meme now... he will never be respected in the culture again....I think so. HIT EM UP was just vicious. NOT LIKE US is an anthem for the West Coast, but also people who are tired of the bullshit in hip hop. It's feels like it has the energy of HIT EM UP and CALIFORNIA LOVE in one song. It's a track everyone will remember where they were when they first heard it.
Drake will go to the Caribbean and make more jawns with Popcaan like this. He’s going to go more international to wash this sonning out his mouth.
Who's music do you think aged better? Was just wondering to myself a couple days ago. Had Spotify on playing some random shit an a Ja song came on. Thinking to myself "I'm more prone to listen to a Ja track these days than a 50 song" when it was the complete opposite back in the day.
I mean LOL
