That's what I said, their top guys could walk the streets in Florida and if ten guys recognize them they'd feel like it was the best day of their lives lol

Honestly that's gonna apply to any wrestling talent. Unless you actually watch the product the average person on the street isn't gonna know who Seth Rollins is or Sami Zayn, Cody, etc. They'll know who the Rock is because he's mainstream with movies and shit as well as John Cena but that's really it. I asked my cousin the other day who doesn't watch wrestling does he know who Roman Reigns is and he looked at me like who?

The matches are..ok, if you're into that kind of thing.

From a kid all the way up to my teenage years I was exposed to many styles of wrestling so I developed an appreciation for them. Lucha Libre style, NWA style, NJPW Strong Style, FMW Death style, AJPW Kings Road style, etc. AEW is like a hybrid of all those styles so when blended together it creates great matches.

You got the aew audience chanting "this is awesome" during Eddie Kingston matches where he flubbers around and looks like a guy they pulled out of the audience for a make a wish match.

They're chanting "this is awesome" because Kingston works a reliable blue collar gimmick where he doesn't look like your ideal wrestler but fans get behind him because he's the average guy breaking through the glass ceiling. People love underdogs.

I think guys like ospary are talented and would be doing much better if they went to WWE and learned that style and given actual material to work with . I don't like that cirque de sole shit, and neither do the masses in the US.

You speak for the masses in U.S? By that logic wrestlers like Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Great Muta, etc would've never became great in the United States. A lot of the greats do the Cirque du Soleil shit. The problem isn't the Cirque du Soleil shit it's building stories around the Cirque du Soleil shit.

Now that Japanese shit you post looks impressive, much more than anything I've seen from aew, especially the ladies.

Stardom features the best women's wrestling on the planet so AEW, WWE, NXT, or whomever would've be able to match that level of skill. That's why AEW is forming a working relationship with them and why WWE plucked wrestlers from their promotion like KAIRI, Io Shari, and now Giulia.

Also NXT >>>anything from aew.

I'm not seeing it bro but to each their own. Nothing on NXT/WWE is gonna trump the quality of a Ospreay/Omega match.

Eddie Kingston is a joke and I can't take anyone serious who takes him seriously

The masses speak for themselves, nobody watches aew, their ratings and ticket sales are embarrassing.

You're insulting Eddie Guerrero and everyone you mentioned by comparing them to these goofs lol sacrilege!!! Lol sure they can do some "cool moves" but the pacing of the matches, the in ring storytelling/ring psychology just plain sucks. Listen, at the end of the day im glad that those wrestlers are getting paid and I'm glad the people who enjoy it enjoy it. It's just not my thing, and it's not most people's thing either lol

Lol AEW fans really are sad, they're the maga of wrestling fans. Always want to be the victim, always want to pretend that they love rent free in the minds of WWE fans. The truth is nobody knows who any of those guys are, they could walk down the streets and not face a single fan recognizing their top guys all over the country. Their ratings are shit, their talent is shit, they don't move them needle and if they didn't have endless money from tk they'd already be dead. The only time I seenwwe fans mention AEW is to laugh at the audacity of them thinking they're competition. Lmao

Reeks of desperation, I mean what else could they do? Put out a watchable product with good matches and competent storytelling? Lol
Yeah it’s corny to do it now. The time to do it was when all of this occurred. Now they look desperate….

The thing is....I see this as a bad look on AEW.

Punk mentioned what happened on a podcast interview.

AEW is addressing it (for the second time in two weeks) on their Main Show.

Instead of focusing on their own product, they are still focusing time on Punk.
Right and not only that what can they do? What is this even going to do? Make Punk look bad? He doesn’t give a fuck lol. Make WWE look bad? They’re laughing and focused on their product. I’m not sure how this benefits anyone….

Wayne is a wrestling head and with them openly embracing rap(pers) as heavily as they have been, if Wayne is down to walk out.... I mean, they really couldn't say no. It's not like he is CyHi the Prince or Chingy..... kids today still love Wayne
I don’t like the Cyhi slug but you told no lies

It's hilarious, not only are they not in competition with WWE, most people aren't even aware what an AEW is lmao

Like I said and I stand by it.

NXT>>>>AEW
And never will if they keep acting like a third tier product…stop acting like IMPACT…suppose to be better than that but I mean NXT don’t stoop to this level.

I won't believe it's legit until I see it. I was just reading comments on r/SquaredCircle and somebody said it's probably claymation footage like the old Celebrity DeathMatch. Hell get Seth Green to do the voices.

And there it is..... Doing this, they are painting themselves into a dumbass corner. Either put up or shut up.

It's a dumb move either way. If they do some lame re-enactment, they are the children Punk referred them as.

So for all y'all who love Rock the Dwayne being back and being a bad guy .... is this fun?

Is it fun watching this mockery of match while Dwayne says 'fuck' & ' shit' a lot?
I mean I thought it was fun lol….this is what we get because everyone was crying about Cody not finishing his story so this what they get lol.

Yeah I asked earlier what does this do….but yeah if they do something that stupid then it does validate what Punk said lol. Guess there’s that as well.

I ask myself why would Cody leave something he helped built and I mean he’s clear why.

People are gonna hate them regardless. Whole point they're leaning into the EVP heels. Punk anointed them as childish devils so the IWC is gonna believe what Punk said and run with it and disregard everything else.

I have to disagree with you on this brother!!...People are watching and pay attention to AEW!!...The numbers and ratings might not be up as expected or they slack on storylines and the booking are messed up sometimes on their weekly shows but people is watching AEW!!...My thing is that you can't hate and talk bad about someone or something if you not pay attention to it or watch what that someone or something is doing!!..That's why I think people are watching AEW!!..

The BGOL fam on this thread knows I rolled with AEW and a fan cause I like their wrestling vibe they bring!!..I don't watch WWE no more and don't know what's going on over there but I don't hate on WWE and what they are doing over there....I always said that Wrestling is good when it's more than one successful Wrestling Company out there!!..My ol school heads that watch wrestling in the golden era of the 80's and 90's knows what I'm talking about!!..

Also, AEW PPV's from all last year of 2023 and this past ppv they had in Jan got nothing but good reviews and good ratings for their ppv's shows!!......You can't have that success if wrestling fans doesn't watch or attend your shows!!..Yes, their ppv's are packed and alot of them been sold out!!..

AEW will be fine and people are watching it.....Also, Eddie Kingston is not a joke!!...He's a damn good wrestler!!..

But, to each their own..

We'll just have to agree to disagree on Kingston.

The masses speak for themselves, nobody watches aew, their ratings and ticket sales are embarrassing.

People watch AEW. They're regularly in the top three of cable shows on Wednesday nights. This whole narrative that if you're not getting ratings like WWE (a company that's been around for 40 plus years) then nobody is watching is tribalist nonsense. AEW's ratings and gates are reflective of a 5 year company.

Again different styles. Trying to apply the metrics/guidelines of one wrestling style to others is ridiculous. Different styles emphasize different things. Instead of trying to fit everybody in one box expand your mind. This is the problem with a lot of WWE fans. They think wrestling should only be done one way. A very narrow minded way of thinking.

They're working an angle out of it bro that's why they're addressing it on the main show. This is more to do with Jack Perry than Punk.

Definitely agree to disagree, you two are cool Vs most AEW fans I've come across so I definitely don't want to disparage something you enjoy too much lol just some friendly shit talk and ribbing! it's definitely not for me but I'm glad you guys find enjoyment from it

I'll say this I'm glad old wrestlers like sting can have a place to go and make a shit ton of cash and get treated like royalty. I respect that.

They've presented themselves as childish between the BTE stuff and a good amount of the stuff they've done on TV like their 1st heel turn where they became whiny goofs who superkick random announcers and other people that nobody gives 2 shits about.

Yep. No one is tuning in to see the Young Bucks. They'll tune in to see CM Punk's backstage incident involving one of the Young Bucks friends though....

I've never seen a tag team so over hyped by their fans in all of my time watching wrestling.

So Edge's promo on their Main show was working an angle?

I'm talking specifically about what the Young Bucks are doing because it directly involves Jack Perry. What Edge was doing was just some typical rah rah shit. They did the same before with Moxley after Punk got suspended following the "All Out" incident with the Bucks.

Again, they are focusing attention on their main show to a guy who hasn't worked at the company since August.

Angle or not, shit is corny.
