Start at the 4:00 mark and tell us how you would have handled this situation if you were in the audience.

I woulda laughed if he was funny. Think I give a fuck about a nigga laughin about Floyd, I got a dead dopefiend cousin that was shot in the back by police and we still laugh about the crazy shit he did in life.
The best course of action is to get up and leave, after which you should send a note to the venue stating how much you dislike the comic and ask the venue to never invite him back.
Best course of action is to get up and leave if you are a sensitive ass. Leavin a note is Karen shit.

Agreed. Comedy is often insulated from criticism, but homie crossed the line - in a BIG way. I would have left as well.

I'll be honest though. I found the Youtube comments interests. No outrage, just support. I'm guessing those were mainly white people. At least I hope so.

David Lucas is rarely funny, maybe one or two roast battles back in the day. But since he moved to Austin he's been an unfunny mascot for white comedians on Kill Tony.
I just now heard about him through this thread a comment in a YouTube battle said he turned ruckus and started hated black or because he got roasted bad in onnof those roast me segments he was funny in this clip

I'll say the same thing I always say about this. The one rule of comedy is that anything can be funny. HOWEVER, if you are going to say or do something controversial, then the joke better be funny enough to offset the potential offense.

This dude is not funny on a good day, so he has business pushing limits and then being surprised that people are bothered by it. The fact that instead of just moving on with his set, he just stewed in people being upset and dipping out just shows how weak a game he has.

Kinda makes me wish I stayed in the standup game, because somebody's out there paying dudes like this to phone in garbage.

he was tryin way to hard to cozy up

to a cac audience... he seems like he could

have been funny at one time, but now he just

comes off as a dude that hates his life and hides

behind comedy...the Floyd joke wasnt even reaching,

it was just CRINGE and it kept getting worse..

Im sure he gained some cac fans tho!!!

thanks for this, now I know to keep it moving

if I see any of his work...

I think you're conflating the issue.

I laugh about shit my dopefiend cousins or old classmates used to do while alive as well......

But I never joke about or make fun of how they died. This comic was trying to make fun of why and how George Floyd died. I've heard people make fun of the fake $20 bill and they left it at that.....

By no means is there anything funny about a cop kneeling on someone's neck for over 8 minutes, while the victim is crying out in pain and calling for his dead mother to help him.

I wouldn't be there in the first place to see him. I don't favor comedians that make their whole act about fucking with the audience. Interaction is okay, but I prefer it to be a small part of the overall show.

I used to not like DL Hugely because it seems like that's all he did was heckle the audience. But on his Kings of Comedy set I really saw that he could do a more balanced set, his jokes were hilarious and he is very good with his timing with his interactive segment. He really learned well from Robin Harris.

I felt the same way watching this. It was as if he was proud to be offending the black people in the audience and intentionally doing it to appeal to the whites. :smh:

that last part ..... fukk that nukka

It's all good til he starts in on one of those same white/latino and other people that are overjoyed and finding him funny.

I'm not a fan of his style of comedy but sometimes it be one of those nights and the people who paid to be there need to let him do what they paid to see him do but like a lot of shows,Mr.Alcohol get's to feeding them courage and they try to disrupt the show.....it's fair treament.

I mean funny is funny..

But Lowkey that was a cry for help

At our expense..

Weakness personified.....

Really makes a dude appreciate the comedic

Genius if a Dave Chappelle

He is painfully unfunny.

And the whole time he pandering to a room full of white people?

Where were the JOKES?

So, I noticed that too, but dude is clearing "headlining" these small venues so thats at least a 30 - 45 min set. And he's uploading the vids himself, so any edits are intentional.

I'm assuming he's not a strong or dedicated comic, so he's probably recycling most of the same set which is why he edits out his jokes and only shows the "roasts."

I was most offended by how unfunny he was.

You laugh about the fact he was shot in the back by the police?

Also id have to walk out. You can't say no shit like that and have them cacs laughing like that. Id be like " you wrong bruh, you're lost you should be ashamed then walk out.

It looks like the audience was mostly white. His comedy was catered to his audience.

I fuck with David
But I knew something was up when I saw him hanging with rednecks on his channel. He said this around enough white people for him to think that this was OK.

When you see the white people he hangs around, it actually makes sense

If we are not trying to build a nation then we are trying to crawl back on the plantation. He is no different than Corey Holcomb when ladies that come to his show are deeply offended.
Some of us are deeply offended when we see our own siding with falsehood and siding with the oppressor against the oppressed. But we know that they cannot help it they are controlled and programmed. People do not do what they want to do they do what they are programmed to do. Just like the comedian those that walked think they are free but are not. There is no way a grown man can tell another grown man what to do unless he controls him. The president puts his pants on the same way I do. It is witchcraft and sorcery that makes him important and me a part of the gutter and somebody in the way progress for a white reality.
Not to many years ago they had genocide practice for blacks in New Orleans and all we do is live out our dreams while white power builds up more genocidal power.

Black pain and suffering will always be ENTERTAINMENT to "those' people.

Hell.
Even among US.

Though I've had angry feelings about this for ages.
It's just been bubbling up more these days as I'm just about done reading Michael K. Williams memoir.
And my dilemma with shows like "THE WIRE".
Along with Black Comedians who continuously make light of Our various painful plights in this society
