Arsonist Arrested After Structure Fire in Cotati
On 1/7/2021, Cotati Police Officers responded to the area of El Rancho Drive in Cotati to assist the Rancho Adobe Fire Department with a residential structure fire. After the fire was extinguished, the investigation began and the fire was suspected to be caused by arson.
Cotati Police were able to identify a suspect, Chasity Johnson, 37, of Joshua Tree, Ca. Johnson is still in custody and bail is $75,000.
With the help from Sebastopol Police, the suspect was later apprehended and booked into jail for arson. Cotati gave a big thank you to Rancho Adobe Fire Department, RPDPS,Petaluma Fire Department, County Fire Hazmat, Sebastopol Police Department and local residents.

Johnson, native of Banning Ca, has two other open cases in Sonoma County. She was arrested for drug possession on December 3 2020, and on December 8th 2020 for animal cruelty and animal endangerment.
