The only reason to make a law like this is if the people making this law have a real fear of reparations happening otherwise why make the law.
Like I said previously, these "don't vote" folks want to let dems lose as though nothing changes when they are out of power. In the meantime the GOP will make it harder to get dems elected and will pass laws to make it harder to pass a dem or black agenda should dems ever regain power. They tried to do this in some places regarding confederate statues, making it illegal to remove them. Or stripping power from governorship because a dem got elected. The GOP is actively legislating against black folks on multiple levels. They won't have reparations, and may not even have civil rights, but gosh darn it, they showed the dems they can't win without them.
The GOP uses laws to make statements. It doesn't matter if reparations have a chance of passing or not. The GOP runs Florida so it won't happen anytime in the state, and congress is divided so it's not happening at the federal level, either, but their base got anti-black, pro-white message, and the candidate gets their anti-black bona fides documented.
The GOP runs Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and many other states none of those states have felt the need to make a law like that at this point.
Like I said, FL is run by the GOP also. This law is to make a statement, not because they are in danger of being passed.

So other reparations are fine just none to Black Americans? Dems definitely need to do more but this don't vote philosophy in the context of America's political landscape is foolishness.
I remember the Democratic primary before the 2020 election. A certain group of people were giving themselves high fives for helping to flop Kamala (not a fan of her either). Then when you thought this group was gonna vet the other candidates (as we all know the Democratic primary is the one national level election where Black folks have the most power), they suddenly shifted focus and lasered in on...Cynthia Erivo playing Harriet Tubman.
Such an odd move for a group saying their number one objective is reparations. Why not continue to aggressively vet the other Democratic candidates? Why stop at the one non ADOS half Black one? Everybody needed to be vetted aggressively in the same manner.
It was never about reparations. That is just the vehicle used to rally black folks and launch attacks against voting, democrats and immigrants. It doesn't seem like this was orchestrated because so many regular folks have been caught up in it since the start, including people like Tariq who are well known to the black community, (Tho his is an offshoot to grift imo) but it's has gotten people with legitimate grievances to basically act against their own interests. All the things they are promoting just happen to ALSO be what would be helpful to white supremacy and the GOP. They are so eager to prove they are better or different than the average black person (off the plantation, free thinker etc) but none of what they suggest changes anything and only concedes power. The ones they congratulate and praise as "free thinkers" are usually someone who just endorsed Trump or another GOP candidate.
We've been talking about ados and fba on here for years. What have they accomplished? What candidates have they supported or promoted or got elected? What legislation have they written and tried to get someone to sign on to? They have plenty of complaints about what people are doing and plenty of ideas about what other people should implement, lots of anger but no action. Everything I see is about tearing someone or something down but they aren't building anything.
