Hollywood News: Legend of Zelda Movie Update: March 2027 & New Casting!

I'm not happy about this because Zelda is never meant to be a live action movie. I don't understand,why Nintendo made this move it's stupid.

I know,but that was gonna fail too

You can do more with animated films than live action. On top of that, they're gonna take the fantasy element out of the movie. For whatever reason,these movie and TV executives license a fantasy series;they take the fantastical element out of it...

You CAN do it live it ain't gonna be cheap but I think we seen wheel of time game of thrones etc etc

Because I don't know if a serious tone in Animation gonna work.

This isn't sonic or Mario.

Your margin for error is even MORE narrow in animation NOW.

You gonna have to be at spiderverse level for an IP that important

Skeptical as well due to being live action. Would have preferred that it was an animated series with each season being a different timeline with maybe a different art style.
 
Generally Link doesn't talk, the later versions is supposed to be very Clint Eastwood-esque in the sense he never has dialog for his character. People would always give him the Lassie treatment and repeat what nobody else heard him say.
 
Super Mario was great. I’m all for Nintendo creating their own (animated) cinematic universe, the NCU. Fuck it, after Zelda, I want to see Metroid, then Kirby, he’ll even a Kid Icarus film.

A live action Zelda could work as a miniseries or limited series, like Amazon’s Rings of Power. Fitting a whole Zelda story in a two hour film will be rough, there is so much that should/could be included.

Would they span all the games and mash them into one movie? This way you aren't trying to make a single game last two hours.

And they need to reboot the Kid Icarus game series!!! Tired of seeing this cat in SSB only.
