They were originally planning to do a live action show on Netflix.

You can do more with animated films than live action. On top of that, they're gonna take the fantasy element out of the movie. For whatever reason,these movie and TV executives license a fantasy series;they take the fantastical element out of it...
You CAN do it live it ain't gonna be cheap but I think we seen wheel of time game of thrones etc etc

Your margin for error is even MORE narrow in animation NOW.

Will there ever be a Metroid live action
My argument isn't about should a Zelda be made my issue is why should is the movie be live action when an animated one is a better fit.
Super Mario was great. I’m all for Nintendo creating their own (animated) cinematic universe, the NCU. Fuck it, after Zelda, I want to see Metroid, then Kirby, he’ll even a Kid Icarus film.
A live action Zelda could work as a miniseries or limited series, like Amazon’s Rings of Power. Fitting a whole Zelda story in a two hour film will be rough, there is so much that should/could be included.

I can see a Metroid live action being better than a Zelda one since Metroid was heavily influenced by Aliens

I feel like I'm always waiting on a true Metriod sequel while Mario and Zelda get sequels out the ass.
Would they span all the games and mash them into one movie? This way you aren't trying to make a single game last two hours.
And they need to reboot the Kid Icarus game series!!! Tired of seeing this cat in SSB only.
Yeah that Metroid Dredd game, while entertaining, just didn't hit the same as Prime!
