Yeah, this is why some places now the rent is beginning to drop.

In Atlanta I have noticed the rent dropping so let’s see how this goes.

These corporations bought all the houses up to make profits and now with the boom of these cheaper rent apartments and condos they are building everywhere. People that have been priced out the housing market are going that route HUD is moving that route as while cause it's a cheaper option. They finished one down the road from me 3 bedroom $900 a month you only pay electricity water and gas are free.

And these corporations are going to have a huge problem. If they don’t lower the prices on some of these houses they bought up because this is going to look bad on their books if the prices go down fast.

I don't see rents falling so soon. There is always someone willing to pay that high ass rent.

Listen, I see it in Atlanta the apartment that used to be 1500 or $1600 for a one bedroom is now for 1400 or $1300 now

In your area, that is. The rest of the country not so much....The pandemic flipped the script and ruined things. Rental owners are recouping the money they lost over the pandemic, and we've had wage increases as workers demand more money. That combo pushes inflation. The more money the worker makes, the more cost of living goes up. "You got it, we want it".

I was just reading that article the other day.

They are offering deals, not lowering "rent asks". So 3 months off, but the price is still the same. Glad as fuck I don't have a house note or have to pay rent. This shit is fucking ridiculous. 2k a month to live in a box? Fuck outta here.

Fair point but it's something and shows they have to make concessions.

But you know NYC Dray...

It's not that easy to afford a house ESPECIALLY for black folk.

And especially now in this market

No doubt. But I'm comparing most things to down South. I used to live in NYC as a kid, so I can dig it. Here we have houses to rent and apartments. And what they are asking for apartments is ridiculous - $1600? I was in Austin over the weekend and a guy was saying decent apartments there are $2500=$2800....
