This the way of the sports world in my opinion. Reminds me of how the elite QB’s in football are constantly “one-upping” their contracts and haven’t won a ring. We all know that Tatum will have the “richest deal in NBA history” next year and then whoever the next Superstar who is eligible will beat out Tatum. But they are just going to be too heavy with no money to improve the overall team.
But like Teague said, most players would rather have the “richest deal in NBA” history than a title. Nothing wrong with that from their standpoint but as a fan who reaps no benefits from seeing these dudes get paid, I’d be upset if all the money is tied up on dudes that will never win anything together.
I don't see the Celtics improving much being able to afford players to help the team giving players those huge contracts that haven't gotten a ring or an MVP yet.
This type of money, I’d hope to see 2010 Miami Wade-Bron-Bosh type of results lol. We know that ain’t happening in Boston.

He's fortunate that performance didn't mess up his money. I'm interested in seeing the details of the contract. That "worth up to" line has got me curious.
