Also a way for companies to cut back on human workers.. no cashier needed means less people to hire.. so even though it sounds like a cool idea it’s a strategic way to cut out the common man to have a job opportunity

Most places nowadays don't have a lot of cashiers period. They just train associates to do it when they are backed up. In reality it's probably more like now new McDonalds are, the 'cashiers' are still there, just serving the food to your table and doing cleanup. They only actually cashier when someone comes that can't use the kiosk for some reason (and even then they make that hard by not having a visible menu)

they are going to hire less cashiers, but they are going to

have to hire, more cart handlers and bar code adjusters, for the many times

prices will change, due to price adjustments....

everytime they try to phase out a job, there will be one to take its place....

the people who NEED to worry are Accountants and some lawyers....

AI is going to make it easy as fuck to balance books and to Fetch various legal forms

and to help you fill them out, file them yourself......

and they havent unleashed the REAL AI yet..... we got the watered down, censored version...

they do NOT plan on releasing TRUE A.I, what they are afraid of is, A.I making itself available

for global use..

Real AI will give you step by step instructions on how to produce free electricity... make car engines

that can run on sea water...etc..

they already fucked up with 3d printing and folks making their own untraceable guns..

WIth Unfiltered uncensored AI.... the powers that shouldnt be, will NOT be very long...

They already have robots that scan barcodes, check inventory, etc.. so no more jobs won’t be hired.. them 5 cashiers will be reduced to 2 or 3 people to handle those carts.. so less jobs and probably a job demotion with less pay… saying you a cashier would easily be seen as more important than a cart handler.. which means you can pay less to individuals doing that position.. hell get a bunch of Mexicans to do that for the low low

Someone had to design that cart, help assemble it, deliver sales pitches ,develop the software/firmware, run focus groups, fix the carts when they break, come up with updates, diagnostics/troubleshoot, customer service etc...

Low level unskilled work done by one person is being eliminated, but that cart in it's development and ongoing maintenance created Many new positions. People were once highly resistant to the horse and carriage also.

Id like to see them inventory robots do that with produce.... we are still decades away from any real

dent in robot replacement, and by then the newer generations will adapt...

the millenials are NOT putting up with the shit at the workplace we used to put up with...

bruh a supervisor even looks at them wrong, they quittin on the spot.. and the right to work laws

which were really the right to fire your ass without a reason laws,

are working in workers favor.... I know they were tryin to use robots to replace food delivery workers,

that shit worked a little bit on college campuses..

They tried that shit in an inner city environment.. LOL major failure.. imagine a robot, trying to deliver

food in the projects, or hand deliver in a walk up, or tryin to avoid bored city young heads just fuckin

with it for goofs...

the effort to try to replace workers are in full effect.. but its fuckin decades away, if you over forty

and somewhat tech savvy you have nothing to worry about... and our next generations are going

to adapt lovely...

they dont need the workplace like we did..... social media pays very well.. I know a young couple..

just had a baby, and there job is to dress up their cute lil baby, and record her being cute all day,

as they have mukbangs and other vlogging content.

with only fifty thousand subscribers, they make about ten thousand a month, on super chats and donations,

the baby aint even a year old and little ones college education is paid for... probably wont even need to go to college...

dude making money playing video games all day...

they just not going to need the workforce like we did bruh... not to even mention, young heads,

are getting more financially literate at a young age and able to make nice money, in the stock market

and crypto game...

I dont think making money for food and rent is going to be an issue in future generations like it was

the past, I think their issues are going to be HEALTH and dying before ones time due to lack of

exercise and a piss poor diet..and too much focus on wealth and very little on health, untill its too late..

thats how robots are a threat, they are going to make folks lazy as fuck bruh..

Prime example of A.I. replacing people.
I could be wrong but this looks to be NFC or RFID tags accompanied with a compatible POS system, mounted to the cart and connected to WiFi. Great use of technology and I wish that it was more prevalent. Those damn lines in Walmart/Target could be eliminated.

Wegmans....cool,ten years from now things will have changed so much.Regular shopping will be a thing of the past.

I had this idea 10 years ago. I called it the “Cart-culator”

I have no idea how you patent these things or even how to pass along ideas. I’ve since come up with 3-4 more good ones just living in my head.

Any help?

I know all about the process that some jobs were created making that shit.. but at the end of the day it’s thousands maybe 5 figs or more supermarkets/ retail stores across the nation that have multiple employees in them.. these carts will eliminate thousands to maybe ten thousands of jobs across the nation.. there won’t be more jobs created making this than lost.. big biz dosent pay more to get rid of less.. they willing to pay a couple hundred thousand to save 10s of millions( aka daily employees)
