Shannon Sharpe says Ja Morant is not hard. “You’re not gangsta, you’re not hood.. stop pretending, you’re worth $200M”

dont forget the nba has historically tried to keep a clean image to not lose white money and sponsorships. anyone who cant understand that wont understand the nba's position.
in my humble opinion, dont fuck up your money. i think ja is dumb for that.
also, he is projecting negativity that is keeping our culture in the mud.

Just as people get pissed about how the nfl treats their players. Despite having no charges or the charges are dropped, if you negatively impact the brand of the "shield" you'll be punished. The NBA is no different. Laws don't have to be broken to receive a hefty punishment. If you know this, you're only hurting yourself when they hammer you.

You're already an NBA star, who are you trying to impress?

Two major points being overlooked by many:

1. To ME, the videos of him taking hard liquor to the head like it's water and cuttin up, is also VERY troubling. Dude may have a drinking problem.

2. As an avid gun owner, forget all the actin' like a gangsta bullshit.. dude was being MAAAAD reckless with those guns. He could have killed or seriously injured himself or someone else. If you listen to Adam Silver's interview with Malika Andrews, you can tell that commish was dumbfounded by this aspect of the whole thing. He was like dude you fucking up and I'm gonna drop the hammer on you, but all that aside don't you realize you could have blown your damn head off?!

True story, I got a cousin who was like a little brother since I watched him grow up and had to be that big brother to protect him and take care of him when my great grandmother couldn't since she was too old at the time until she passed away.

So, one day, my cousin and his friend was high on weed playing with the gun pointing it at each other running around the house hiding and ducking behind whatever they could find until my cousin accidentally shot and killed his best friend that he panic and ran away but was later found and arrested and is now doing a life sentence.

Mad reckless and I’m with you on wanting him to succeed esp since I’m from SC and I know the area he is from. You really not suppose to go as far as he did from Sumter aka MurkCity.

Him being reckless with that gun is very serious though. That’s a NO GO in gun safety esp pointing it at your head.

I have a good friend who was blind in college because niggas was playing Russian roulette with a gun.
He good and you would never know he is blind just from talking to him, but he does need assistance.

Iverson been to prison as well, also went to jail for carrying a gun but got bailed out.

None of this shit happened to JA yet but if he keeps it up then he will be dealing with some serious consequences soon outside of the NBA!

I'm pretty sure all of us on BGOL want to see JA succeed and had he never was trying to be something that he's not, this thread on BGOL wouldn't never had exist.

I want to hear more good news about JA and not some dumb shit he's doing fucking up his dream being in the NBA.

I know how sumter get down, I'm apart of that because I've been going down there for years since I was a baby visiting my great grandmother.

My cousins always was legally armed and always had my back, I got plenty of respect from some of the most ruthless dudes in sumter that got bodies on them but they always was cool with me.

IF you don't know nobody or don't got fam in sumter then I warn people to not come down here. Them people in sumter is nothing to play with and always be aware of your surroundings.

I'm planning to move down to sumter one day since my grandmother has a house down there that I want to keep it and not sell it. But right now she's renting the house out to a relative.

So, my fam and myself are embarrass with JA doing this dumb shit and not repping SC the right way! He gotta do better.

Certain cats keep saying Ja didn't do anything illegal......possibly true, but those same mfkrs act like the blue shield won't get creative with their interpretations of laws.

Like handling a firearm in an unsafe manner / brandishing are not crimes......

In regards to "brandishing," even though Ja wasn't trying to "intimidate" anyone, he did display, show or otherwise expose a weapon to other people.....

And handling a weapon in an unsafe manner is what they charge some ppl with for "accidental" shootings....the weapon was not discharged but it was still very unsafe to himself and the others in the vehicle.

Also JJ needs to relax and let the collective black community lead the way here. We're witnessing someone commit the ultimate bag fumble. If he gets another slap on the wrists he won't take this situation seriously, just like what happened two months ago....

I think I'm safe in saying most people don't want his career or life ruined over this. However, you have to set an example. The league has to punish the bad behavior or it will continue.....and the "family friendly" league cannot have their star player promoting such reckless and dangerous behaviors.

JJ Redick.... continues to just kill it.

This is tennessee's fault... Not a single law was broken in this video. It's crazy but it's true.

the nba might have a code and conduct policy... but that's it.

But on the real... JA has got to do better then this.

This is not a profound statement by JJ. Ja should be suspended because eventually a REAL gangster is going to kill him. Either that or he'll eventually do some dumb shit that will land him in prison.

No one in Ja's circle is able or willing to tell him what he needs to hear so the Grizzlies and the NBA have to do that for them.

We don't want to see a young black man throw his life away. Neither Abbot nor that congressman are going down a path of self destruction, Ja is. And even if they were, fuck em.

People swear JJ be knowing what he be talking about when he don't.

That's why it's easy to see people that agree with him don't understand that the NBA has a policy for players of what they should and shouldn't be doing.

What Ja is doing isn't being responsible with that weapon which has nothing to do with breaking the law but still can be dangerous to himself or others waving that gun recklessly which is why he's facing consequences from the NBA!

It was never about the law...It was about violating the rules, and bylaws in the new employee's handbook. Those who's served in the military; what is the last sentence at the end of nearly every award you received? "In keeping with the highest honors, and traditions, and reflect great credit upon himself, unit, and (input your branch of service).

What's illegal about that? Brah there are a million post like his on social media.
If you work for the Mta in nyc and get caught posting a pic with a firearm whether legal or not your ass will lose your job. Why cause it’s part of their code of conduct and moral clause in their contract. Now there are other private bizz that have code of conduct stipulations in their contract. If you break them it’s heavy penalties you pay. So it ain’t about the law it’s about the contract. If it’s stipulated on the contract that he’s going against some of the donts than he can suffer negative consequences.. bunch of chicks are half naked on the internet yet if anyone of them teach or take care of kids they will lose their job.. getting half naked ain’t illegal but it does go against some industry code of conduct.. kinda like gambling in sports, taking certain substances, etc

Thank you!

That's why I mentioned the NBA having a policy on what players can and can't do! Most of these people act like this is some complicated shit to understand when it's not. You can't do whatever you want to do on your free time when you sign a contract. People forget that the NBA is a job even though it's a sport but there's still rules a player must follow!

It's not about him doing something illegal. It's about him being outright disrespectful and thumbing his nose at the league. You don't have to do something illegal to break the morality clause.
Here's a perfect example. Gilbert Arenas got a small suspension for having a gun in the locker room. After that he got a crazy suspension for doing the gun shooting dance during the player introductions.

Most everyone knows it's a morality clause issue.

I believe some are coming to his defense if you call it that is because some are acting like he actually murdered someone with the guns! :roflmao:

They're painting a picture as if it's the worst thing that they've ever seen and that's not true.

It's about reeling it in as far as perspective.

Yea it was bad optics regarding morality and an image for the NBA, but as far as legally it wasn't illegal yet people are ready to cancel and damn near tar and feather him! :roflmao:

They're ready to violate him because he was just in trouble. It was a big deal. Then 2 months later he goes back and does the same stupid shit. It's essentially a big fuck you to anybody to tried to help him, school him or protect him when he got in trouble earlier.

This is apples to oranges.

Chris is clearly either at a range and/or at his home....

Also those are pictures, Ja was on VIDEO

In a moving vehicle with at least one other person and handling a gun in an unsafe manner....

STOP IT
Well said. Gun being waved around in a moving car, while likely intoxicated, with innocent lives inside could lead to a ton of “what h-happened to was…”. Ja is fucked because now that real C’s are expressing issues with him signin’ he ain’t safe in any city he travels to. Heads gave him a pass until now. Other gangs are looking at C’s like “So y’all let Sesame Street niggas rep and throw it up for shenanigans?” :smh: Somebody already say he owes, possibly for the rest of his life. They gon have his pockets inside out everywhere he goes on some “check-in” shit for being too flashy. When I lived in Los Angeles folks was in clubs C-walking and getting faded after the infamous WC video where he walked all the way across the stage had regular dudes gassed.:smh: Until they got ran up on. Him and his parents better sit the fuck down somewhere because Ja is forced to make a choice like them cartel videos.
It’s not a game.

Yes you're correct, I know and I agree with you.

I'm simply stating that some are acting like he murdered someone which is why some are stating the legality issue.

Yes it was a bad look, yes it was a slap in the face and disrespectful to the league and everyone involved.

I believe other are saying to keep things in perspective.
